Abstract: A method for producing high quality fabrics using recycled fabric scraps is disclosed. By use of pre-gin contacting of the virgin carrier fibers as well as moistening the fiber scraps that are recycled, fiber length and fiber uniformity percentages are maintained higher then typically achieved by the prior art. The process has many advantages such as: the need for redyeing the resulting material is minimized and shrinkage is substantially reduced.

Abstract: A cover is illustrated for confining in compression a bale of cotton being transported to a textile mill. The cover is warp knitted from cotton mote yarn spun on an open-ended apparatus, possesses a yarn count of 3 to 12 and is of Atlas stitch construction produced by using suitable lapping movements in conjunction with two or more partially-threaded guide bars.

Abstract: A cover is illustrated for use in a cotton bale for transporting fibers to a textile mill wherein the fibers are confined in compression by the cover and by strapping passed thereabout. The cover is knitted from yarn, consisting essentially of cotton yarn and spun on an open end spinning apparatus, possessing a yarn count of from about 3 to about 10, said fibers being warp knit and having a construction including chain stitches and cross lapping yarn.
