  • Patent number: 7480572
Abstract: A method for detecting a hot target on the Earth by a satellite is disclosed. The satellite includes a sensor for acquiring data in spectral channels in the IR spectrum, and a navigation system for detecting position and orientation data of the satellite. The method includes the steps of subjecting the acquired data to a system correction by radiometric and geometric calibration files stored on the satellite; detecting a hot target on board from the system-corrected data by multi-channel thresholding; geo-referencing the hot target by the position and orientation data of the satellite and the geometric calibration files; temporarily storing the geo-referenced hot target on the satellite; and transmitting the temporarily stored hot target by a transmitting unit to a receiving unit on the Earth.

  • Patent number: 6172326
Abstract: A process and a device for the joining of fastening elements on a mask frame of picture tubes by welding using laser beams is applicable to the production of color picture tubes for television sets and computer monitors. After positioning the fastening elements, the elements are welded by laser beams from at least one laser source. The laser source is located outside the mask frame, and the laser beam is guided through a glass wall of a screen to weld the fastening elements.

  • Patent number: 4710850
Abstract: The invention relates to a tower design for high-voltage systems consisting of several stories (2 to 12) which are connected to each other by means of insulators, where each story (2 to 12) comprises support bars (16) of electrically insulating material and cup-shaped node elements (24). According to the invention, the support bars (16) and metallic cross bars (26) enclose a rectangular area by means of the node elements (24) a supporting rib structure (32) of insulating transverse and longitudinal supports (34 and 36) is arranged, and that a cylindrical support body (42) with an axially arranged cylindrical core (44) is provided as the cup-shaped node element (24), where the cylinder surface (46) of the node element (24) is provided with two fastening posts (38) which are arranged at right angles to each other and at right angles to the end faces (48) of the support body (42).
