  • Patent number: 4475017
Abstract: An autopneumatic compressed gas switch comprises a gas cylinder with a piston which is cooperable with the cylinder and with one of them being movable relative to the other with changes of gas pressure. The stationary tubular part having one wall with an axially extending slot is disposed adjacent the cylinder and piston combination. A counter contact is disposed in the stationary tubular part and it has a radial projection which extends through the slot of the stationary part. An insulating bushing is connected to the movable one of the piston and cylinder set and is movable therewith. The insulating bushing carries a contact piece which is engageable with the counter contact. A releasable latch is connected between the bushing which has the contact piece and the counter contact so that the two parts move together.

  • Patent number: 4236054
Abstract: A gas-blast circuit breaker has a plurality of serially arranged circuit breaking stations per pole and a tubular throughgoing stationary casing of electrically insulating material enclosing the circuit breaking stations. Each circuit breaking station has a stationary contact affixed to the casing, a movable contact cooperating with the stationary contact, a movable nozzle of insulating material and a gas pressurizing piston-and-cylinder arrangement. Each such arrangement has an outer cylindrical wall structure, a piston slidable therein and a stationary component affixed to the casing and forming a radial cylinder base. Each outer cylindrical wall structure is constituted by a length portion of the casing. Each piston-and-cylinder arrangement has an inner wall structure spaced from the casing. The inner wall structures each constitute a guide for slidably supporting the movable contact for axial displacement with respect to the inner wall structure.

  • Patent number: 4211904
Abstract: A gas-blast circuit breaker having cooperating stationary and movable power contacts, a movably arranged cylinder, a stationary piston disposed in the cylinder and slidable with respect thereto, a compression chamber defined by an end face of the piston and the inside of the cylinder, a drive rod operatively connected to the cylinder and the movable power contact for displacing them relative to the piston and the stationary power contact, respectively, a nozzle affixed to the cylinder and having an opening oriented towards the location where an electric arc is generated between the stationary and movable power contacts during displacement of the movable power contact away from the stationary power contact and a hollow guide sleeve connected to the drive rod and movable therewith as a unit. The movable power contact is supported within the guide sleeve and is displaceable with respect thereto.
