Patent number: 6723277Abstract: A method for producing a milling disc with embedded insets of hard metal, ceramics or other similar hard materials. The milling disc has a centrical bore in the base body of the disc. The tips of the insets protrude over the circumference of the disc body. The invention also relates to a milling disc produced according to the method wherein a powdery sintered metal material is filled into the recess of a mold pertaining to a compression molding die, and the mold matches the outer contour of the disc base body. Pre-fabricated insets are inserted into the sintered metal material and are positioned in the mold of the compression molding die. A green compact is subsequently pressed in the compression molding die and then taken out of the compression molding die. The green compact is sintered with the pressed insets and is subjected to hardening and/or surface treatment, if required.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2002Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Karl Simon GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5016433Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring the proper grasping and release of yarn tubes by an automatic bobbin changer in removing fully-wound yarn tubes from, and placing empty replacement yarn tubes onto, the spindles of an associated ring spinning machine or ring twisting machine. After an operation of the bobbin changer for either grasping or releasing yarn tubes, a light beam is directed through an area previously occupied by the tubes, a determination is made whether the light beam is interrupted by any tube which the bobbin changer failed to grasp or release, and if so, a failure signal is generated to interrupt continued operation of the bobbin changer.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1989Date of Patent: May 21, 1991Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Oliver Putz, Herbert Konig

Patent number: 4864694Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the drafting of sliver in a draw frame wherein a control arrangement generates an adjusting signal in response to sliver mass variations to correspondingly vary the sliver draft. A modifying arrangement is provided for selective manual or automatic adjustment according to any given one or more operating parameters which influence the sliver drafting, such as physical characteristics of the sliver and environmental characteristics of the textile machine, to modify the operation of the control arrangement to correct the adjusting signal and thereby to further vary the drafting of the sliver to compensate for the operating parameters.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1987Date of Patent: September 12, 1989Assignee: Zinser Textilemaschinen GmbHInventors: Herbert Konig, Gerhard Stahle

Patent number: 4819301Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling the drafing of sliver in a draw frame in which sliver first travels through an advance sensing means that senses variations in the mass, then passes through a drafting means which is located after the advance sensing means and is provided with an adjustable draft, and finally travels through an after sensing means located after the drafting means which senses the mass per unit of length, whereby the draft of the drafting means is varied to compensate for variations in mass of sliver in response to the sensed variations in mass evaluated in a time-delayed manner and of the difference of the measured mass per unit length of the output and of a selectable theoretical value for the mass per unit of length.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1987Date of Patent: April 11, 1989Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Herbert Konig, Gerhard Stahle

Patent number: 4812993Abstract: A method and means for controlling the drafting of sliver in a draw frame using sensing means with the aid of which variations in mass of the sliver can be sensed and a resulting signal applied to drafting means located after the sensing means in the direction of travel of the sliver and which changes the draft to compensate for sensed variations in the sliver mass. The sensing means and the drafting means are connected to controlling means which include a storage device. A sensed variation in sliver mass is temporarily stored by the storage device for the duration of a delay time which takes into consideration the traveling time of the sliver form the sensing means to the drafting means. The delay time is shortened by a correction time as a function of the magnitude and/or rate of the sensed variation in sliver mass. This has the effect that variations in mass of the sliver can be compensated almost completely by the drafting device.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1987Date of Patent: March 14, 1989Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Herbert Konig, Gerhard Stahle

Patent number: 4727713Abstract: Roving or sliver clamping device at the drafting unit of a spinning machine, with a clamp segment which enters in the operative position between the upper inlet roller and the lower inlet roller of the drafting unit, and which clamp segment raises the upper inlet roller from the lower inlet roller, and clamps the roving or sliver against the upper inlet roller, whereby the clamp segment is acted upon by an actuating element which causes its roving or sliver-clamping position, and the clamp segment is maintained in the position in which the roving or sliver clamping device is at rest by a holding element. The holding element includes means for storing energy and it positively counteracts the actuating element.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1987Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Herbert Konig, Werner Meissner
