Abstract: Substantially hollow jewelry items made from metals, particularly precious metals, can be produced galvanoplastically, in that the metal is electrolytically deposited on an electrically conductive mould core having the spatial contour of the jewelry item, after reaching the desired coating thickness the core is chemically or thermally dissolved and the core material removed through an opening in the metal coating. In order to be able to provide such jewelry items with stones, particularly gems or semiprecious stones, the mould core is provided in the vicinity of the gem mount with a mould surface forming the gem support and nose, web or ring-like projections surrounding the same and that after removing the core material the gem is placed on the gem support and the mount parts formed by the projections are pressed onto the gem.

Abstract: Pieces of jewelry made from metal, particularly precious metal, are produced galvanoplastically, in that the precious metal is electrodeposited on an electrically conductive mould core having the spatial contour of the piece of jewelry and on reaching the desired coating thickness the mould core material is dissolved chemically or thermally from the jewelry body. In order to produce pieces of jewelry or parts thereof, which are exposed to mechanical stresses, the hollow jewelry body obtained is provided with a solid area made from the same metal in those parts of the jewelry item undergoing more pronounced mechanical stressing during further working or correct use. Abstract: A preform mold space is formed by two mold sections spaced from each other. A gem is positioned in the mold space, and a hardenable preform wax-like material is introduced into the mold space and into supporting contact with the gem to thereby form a preform model upon hardening of the wax-like material. The preform model is removed from the mold space and embedded in hardenable embedding material so as to form a mold cavity about the exterior of the preform model upon hardening of the embedding material. Simultaneously with the hardening process the wax-like material is melted and removed from the mold cavity while the gem remains embedded in the mold. A heated molten hardenable metal material is then introduced into the mold cavity. The hardened metal material supportingly engages different facets of the gem and fixedly anchors the latter in the article of jewelry formed by the disclosed method.
