Abstract: The present invention relates to heteroleptic complexes comprising a phenylimidazole or phenyltriazole unit bonded via a carbene bond to a central metal atom, and phenylimidazole ligands attached via a nitrogen-metal bond to the central atom, to OLEDs which comprise such heteroleptic complexes, to light-emitting layers comprising at least one such heteroleptic complex, to a device selected from the group consisting of illuminating elements, stationary visual display units and mobile visual display units comprising such an OLED, to the use of such a heteroleptic complex in OLEDs, for example as emitter, matrix material, charge transport material and/or charge blocker.

Abstract: An efficient means for providing packaging materials comprises foam sheets which have been at least partially cut into regular segments which may be configured by hand into nearly any shape to fit a void space which may surround an article to be packaged in a container. The sheets may be stacked into a cube for ease of transport and storage. The foam sheets may be easily separated into segments by hand by snapping (rigid) or tearing (flexible) the foam into a custom shape which best fits the void space. In one particular embodiment, the segments may comprise a thermoplastic foam which may be configured into corner pads for supporting an article within an outer container.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a medium, especially a conditioning medium or a rubber covering medium, to a printing form positioned on a form cylinder, especially to a rewritable and erasable printing form, is disclosed. The medium is applied to a rubber covered cylinder or to a separate applicator roll or an applicator cylinder for the medium, the medium then being transferred from the rubber covered cylinder or applicator roll or applicator cylinder to the form cylinder, in this case the rubber covered cylinder, the applicator roll or the applicator cylinder rolling repeatedly over the form cylinder in order to ensure a uniform application of the medium to the printing form.

Abstract: The invention provides a gumming medium for the treatment of printing plates comprising a buffer solution, a water-soluble polymer, a surfactant, and, optionally, a polyhydroxy compound. The invention further provides a printing process utilizing the medium, and a process utilizing the medium as a pretreatment composition for the temporary protection of fresh printing plates from soiling and from the influence of external factors.
