    Abstract: An electrically heatable hair wrapper capable of being cut to any predetermined length from a flat, elongated, flexible base carrying a plurality of parallel resistance heating circuits. The circuits extend along the length of the base in a periodic serpentine pattern with the opposite ends of each pattern being electrically connected to continuous parallel buses extending along the longitudinal edges of the base. The flexible base is provided with indicia for indicating where the base and buses may be cut intermediate each adjacent pair of serpentine patterns so as not to destroy the continuity of the selected resistance heating circuits. A bendable, shape-retaining, cuttable wire along each longitudinal edge of the base outwardly of the parallel buses holds the wrapper in any desired shape. A longitudinally flexible flap integrally formed with at least one longitudinal edge of the base is foldable over the base to retain a hair tress between the base and flap during use of the wrapper.

    Abstract: A diffusion device is provided within or as an attachment to the nozzle of a hair dryer which provides a nearly constant air volume at varying velocities. A hair dryer improvement for varying the air flow output from the hair dryer nozzle. The improvement is a diffusion device which consists of a pair of vanes pivotally mounted downstream of the nozzle. Placement of the vanes in varying positions causes the output air flow to be either concentrated along the nozzle axis or diffused by causing varying portions of the air flow to be directed through the peripheral side wall of the diffusion device. Since the diffusion device offers very little obstruction to the air flow, the volume of air remains nearly constant for the varying diffuser vane positions.

    Abstract: A hairsetter for electrically heating a plurality of flexible hair curlers includes a thermally insulated hollow container receiving therein a plurality of vertically disposed elongated flexible hair curlers arranged in a pair of rows. The curlers are heated by a heat sink core portion disposed between the curler rows and in heat conductive contact with the curlers. The heat sink core portion includes a flat electrical resistance heater plate sandwiched between two electrically insulating boards covered by two oppositely facing metallic heat sink members. The heat sink members each have a plurality of vertical channels receiving and contacting a respective one of curlers of a curler row for conducting heat to the curler from the heater plate. The rows of curlers are disposed in a tiered arrangement to facilitate removal of the heated curlers from the container through a top opening on the container closed by a hinged cover.

    Abstract: A continuous ribbon of moldable material is fed from a plasticizing mill through a stamping section of a molding machine and is returned to the mill as mill stock. The ribbon of moldable material is carried through the stamping section by an endless chain conveyor having prongs spaced therealong. The prongs are pressed into the ribbon as it is drawn from the plasticizing mill. Then, the ribbon is supported by trays as it is drawn along a feed path through the stamping section. The prongs are pulled from the ribbon once the ribbon has been directed by the conveyor back toward the plasticizing mill.At the stamping section, bites are taken from the edge of the ribbon by a die to provide blanks of molding stock to the molding machine. The ribbon is guided by edge guides along a transversely movable supporting tray. The chain conveyor rides in a trough adjacent the tray. By moving the tray and trough away from the stamping die, the mill may be operated continuously even with the mold shut down.
