Abstract: Agents for the oxidative dyeing of hair, containing as coloring component 6-amino-3-methylphenol, also in the form of its salts or phenolates. The coloring component is contained in these agents in a quantity of about 0.01 to 2.0 percent by weight, alone or in a mixture with the customary developing and coupling substances. In the case of a mixture, the 6-amino-3-methylphenol is preferably used at a molar ratio below normal relative to these developing and coupling substances. The oxidative reaction of the 6-amino-3-methylphenol proceeding with an intensive yellow coloring is generally not influenced by the customary developing and coupling substances that may be present.

Abstract: Agents for the oxidative dyeing of hair, containing as coupling substance at least one derivative of 1,2-methylene dioxybenzene of the general formula ##STR1## in which R signifies an OH--, NH.sub.2 --, NHR.sup.1 -- or NR.sup.1 R.sup.2 -group, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent, independently of each other, an alkyl-, hydroalkyl-, or acyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The coupling substance is contained in these agents in a concentration of about 0.01 to 3.0 percent by weight, i.e. in a mixture with customary developing substances and, in given instances, also customary coupling substances. The particular possibility exists of producing dark natural tints by a mixture of 4-oxy-1,2-methylene dioxybenzene with the developing substance p-aminophenol.

Abstract: A process for preparing a composition, a composition and a process for oxidative dyeing of hair are disclosed. The composition comprises at least one n,5-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalene having the general formula ##STR1## wherein n represents a number from 1,2,3, or 4, and which n,5-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene can be present as such or as a salt of an organic or inorganic base and which n,5-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalene serves as a coupling compound; and at least one developer employed in hair dyeing. Intense and red tinge free blue colorations can be obtained.

Abstract: A hair coloring composition, and a method for using the composition, are described, in which as coupler substance, in addition to customary couplers if desired, a compound of the formula ##STR1## is employed. The novel couplers are more physiologically suitable for use in hair colorings than the prior art couplers, and allow for the preparation of compositions which lead to highly stable colorings over a broad range of shades and tones.

Abstract: A process for shampooing and/or conditioning the hair by applying to the hair a lotion containing a shampoo and/or conditioning agent including an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic solution, emulsion or gel containing a water soluble salt of chitosan.

Abstract: Hair setting lotion consisting of an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic solution of a film-forming resin which contains a water soluble salt of chitosan.
