  • Patent number: 4821433
Abstract: The boot is composed of a lower shell (1), on which an upper (2) is articulated about a pivot axis (5) coinciding at least approximately with the joint of the foot. The shell (1) has on the outside, at the rear, a rounded portion (12), the radius of curvature of which is centered on the pivot axis (5), to allow the upper (2) to tilt to the rear. Means, such as ribs (17), are provided inside the part (11) of the shell in order to limit the space intended for receiving the skier's heel.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4796337
Abstract: The device comprises a toothed strap with saw teeth (4), which is fixed, at one of its ends, to the boot (1) and carries a sliding U-piece (7) on which a ratchet (8) cooperating with the toothed strap is pivotably mounted. Above these teeth (10), the ratchet has a groove (11) inside which the bar (11) of a buckle (14) integral with another part of the boot is engaged. The U-piece is provided with two hook-shaped recesses located opposite the groove (11). The hinging pin (15) of the buckle, which at the same time acts as a tensioning lever, engages inside a groove (13). The ratchet pin is subject to a small degree of strain and accidental opening of the buckle due to pressure on the end of the latter is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4761899
Abstract: The boot comprises an upper (4) hinged (5) with a shell (1). A mechanism allows the upper to be locked to the shell or to be pivoted. This mechanism consists of two links (7, 8) hinged with each other and, on the one hand, with the shell (10) and, on the other hand, with the upper (11). The pin (9) hingeably connecting the links together is accommodated, on the one hand, inside a notch (19b) in the top link (8) and, on the other hand, in a fixed oblong aperture (16). The notch (19b) leads into an oblong aperture (19a) in the top link (8). The mechanism is kept in this locked position by a spring (26). A lever (27) enables the oblong aperture (19a) to be brought opposite the hinging point (9) so that this pin is able to slide inside the superimposed apertures (16, 19a).

  • Patent number: 4761898
Abstract: This fastener for closing two portions (2, 4) of a footwear in general and more particularly of a ski boot comprises a toothed strap (8) having ratchet teeth which is attached to one portion (2) of the footwear and has mounted permanently thereon a stirrup (10) provided with a pawl (11) and a tension lever (14) pivoted on the stirrup (10) fulcrumed on the other hand on the other portion (4) of the boot, the length of the toothed strap (8) being sufficient to allow a wide opening of the footwear, the fastener being adapted to keep the footwear closed permanently and being easily operated with one hand by the user.

  • Patent number: 4723364
Abstract: The lining comprises an ankle part consisting of a front portion (4) and of a rear tongue (5) articulated at the level of the heel, and also of a portion (2) surrounding the foot. The lining possesses a transverse cut-out (20) on the instep, allowing free forward flexion of the ankle part. The portion extending over the foot possesses in addition a lengthwise slit (9) opening into the transverse cut-out (20) and allowing uniform gripping of the foot, preferably without any overlap of the two edges of this slit.

  • Patent number: 4706393
Abstract: This ski boot fastener comprises a stretching lever having pivotally mounted therein at least two nipples each fulcrumed on a crosspin, and boot closing cables having each one end passing through the corresponding nipple and anchored to a cable head or socket movable along the cable and reacting against the corresponding nipple. The head or socket consists of an internally screw-threaded tube engaged by an externally screw-threaded core soldered to the cable end. The adjustment is obtained by rotating the socket.
