At least one unit has an evaluation unit for forming a weight value expressed in a system of units from the weight signal supplied via the given signal communications system. At least one unit has a display unit for displaying the weight value and a total price of the object supplied via the given signal communications system. Also, at least one unit has a control unit for memorizing an article number and an associated unit price of the object and for controlling the operation of the weighing device so as to calculate the total price by multiplication of the unit price with the weight value after the article number is entered.

Abstract: A problem associated with label printers for liner-free labels is that the self-adhesive coated surface (4) of the label strip to be printed is exposed as it passes through the printer and is guided over a roller (10) that transports the label strip through the printer. Said strip must be released from the roller to be issued at the exit (15) of the printer. According to the invention, instead of the provision of conventional scraper elements downstream of the roller (10), the label strip is embossed, which counteracts the tendency of the label strip to become wound around the roller (10), thus enabling the label strip to be detached from the roller (10) in a reliable manner.

Abstract: A visual display apparatus comprises a multisegment bar display (2) having display characters (16) divided into two groups. In the first group individual outer segment bars (17) are each associated with a respective permanent marking which indicates a specific information item or class of information items, and are connected in a closed cycle whereby the instantaneously actuated display can be advanced forward or backward in the closed cycle from one segment bar (17) to another by keys (4,5). A sequence of display patterns representing parameter values is displayed in the second group of display characters (16), which sequence and which set depends on the segment bar (17) which is instantaneously actuated in the first group, and a desired parameter value can be selected from among the sequence by depressing an "acceptance" key (6).

Abstract: A measuring apparatus such as a scale comprising a weighing platform module, an evaluation module including a microprocessor, and a connecting cable for operatively connecting the modules, the apparatus being operable in at least two (2) different operating modes such as a weighing mode, a calibration and adjustment mode, and a servicing and diagnosis mode, has a plug and socket connection between the modules which, when connected, sets the apparatus in a predetermined one of the operating modes, conveniently the weighing mode. The currently operative mode is automatically determined by the plugging in or unplugging of the connector cable with or without an intermediate plug. This ensures simple and substantially error-free operation of the apparatus.
