  • Patent number: 4131352
Abstract: An improved pressure roller in a photographic apparatus of the self-developing type is disclosed. The roller has a rigid core provided with two axially spaced circumferential grooves which are filled with resiliently compressible material. The core is jacketed with a resilient sheath which covers its circumferential surface, including the grooves and the material therein.

  • Patent number: 4118228
Abstract: Photographic panchromatic black-and-white silver halide recording material having two silver halide emulsion layers wherein a layer, called hereinafter first layer, has a panchromatic sensitivity and another layer, called hereinafter second layer, has a blue sensitivity, which is, when determined on comparable wedge images, at density 0.3 at least 0.6 log I.t units higher than its separately considered green and red sensitivity, wherein for the determination of the sensitivities a blue filter, a green filter, and a red filter as characterized in FIG. 1 are used, both said layers having a substantially identical threshold sensitivity to blue light and the spectral sensitivity of this material at 650 nm being at least 0.8 powers of ten lower than at 620 nm, the sensitivity beyond 650 nm diminishing even further.

  • Patent number: 4114175
Abstract: The shutter mechanism includes an aperture-unblocking member mounted for movement between an unactivated aperture-blocking position and an activated aperture-unblocking position. A cocked drive mechanism is coupled to the aperture-unblocking member and is operative when released for moving the member from the unactivated to the activated position. An inertial braking mechanism is driven by the drive mechanism when the latter moves the aperture-unblocking member to the activated position, and is operative during such movement for applying to the drive mechanism an inertial braking force slowing the movement of the aperture-unblocking member to the activated position. The drive mechanism includes a drive cam, and the inertial braking mechanism includes a driven cam. The surface of the drive cam bears upon the surface of the driven cam and transmits to the driven cam the drive force by means of which the drive mechanism drives the inertial braking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4017879
Abstract: A self-developing type photographic apparatus includes a self-developing packet having a pair of juxtaposed sheet elements and a supply of film-processing fluid provided between the sheet elements with at least one of the sheet elements forming part of an area which is to be coated and developed by the fluid. The packet is adapted to be advanced through a pressure-generating gap defined between a pair of juxtaposed rollers. One of the rollers has a rigid sheet-contacting surface, whereas the other of the rollers has an outer resilient material layer. Various embodiments for facilitating the uniform spreading of the film-processing fluid over the film area are disclosed, particularly in the border regions thereof.

  • Patent number: 4009840
Abstract: Blast nozzle assembly for pneumatically loosening thread ends of rotating textile coils includes a blast nozzle, means for transporting a textile coil past the blast nozzle in a given travel direction, and means mounting the nozzle for pivoting the same within a limited angular range in and opposite to the given travel direction of the textile coil.

  • Patent number: 4001942
Abstract: A rod extensometer which can be inserted into a hole drilled into the roof or floor of an underground excavation to monitor the shifting of material surrounding the excavation. The extensometer has a head which is anchored in the inner end portion of the hole by a hardened synthetic plastic substance, an annular section which is inserted into the outer end portion of the hole and is bonded to surrounding material, and a set of interconnected coaxial cylindrical rods one of which is rigid with the head and another of which extends through the annular section. Changes in distance between the outer end of the other rod and the annular section are indicative of movement of material surrounding the inner end portion of the hole relative to material surrounding the outer end portion of the hole and/or vice versa.
