Abstract: Securing large networks having heterogeneous computing resources including provision of multiple services both to clients within and outside of the network, multiple sites, security zones, and other characteristics is provided using access control functionality implemented at hosts within the network. The access control functionality includes respective access control policies for indicating to each host from which other computers it can accept connections. Content of the access control policies can be determined based on application data flow needs, and can draw information from databases including DNS and security zone information for hosts to which the access control policies will be applied. Access control policies can be formatted automatically for different host with different characteristics from the same base logical rule set.

Abstract: A method and system for tracking health care metrics over time is disclosed which involves aggregating health related data via computer in a common computer database, de-identifying persons in the data in the database to remove personally identifiable information (PII) and personal Health information (PHI), matching de-identified persons with the related data, analyzing the matched de-identified persons and related data to generate populations utilizing risk, condition, and appropriateness of care algorithms, stratifying the population into predefined groups, identifying opportunities for health improvement, disseminating the opportunities to the persons in the groups; and tracking the groups over time to ascertain success of the opportunities disseminated.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus are directed towards enhancing an online dating service experience by enabling a subscriber to the service to provide an online dating testimonial from a friend, family member, companion, and the like, to another subscriber. The invention further enables the subscriber to tell a date how they may feel about the date in a non-email format. In one embodiment, the subscriber may select from a list of predefined online dating messages. The subscriber may also modify the predefined online dating message before sending to the date.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for rich text document storage on small devices. One embodiment provides a compact word processing document format. The document format allows viewing and editing of a document on PDAs. In one embodiment, the document format also includes style information. In another embodiment, the document format handles multi-byte characters. Yet another embodiment is designed to utilize a record-based storage system. One embodiment stores two style galleries in one record of a document. One style gallery represents style information for paragraphs. The other style gallery represents style information for smaller text runs (where a run is sequence of text of one style). The rest of the document stores the text of the document and information about applying styles from the galleries to the text. Documents in standard word processing formats are converted to the document format of the embodiment with little or no loss in stylistic information.
