  • Patent number: 8282362
Abstract: A power plant that outputs energy in the form of heated, compressed gas functions as a gas compressor, a motor, or a heater. The compression is accomplished by combusting a gas in a chamber and selectively diverting the high pressure exhaust to a container or conduit and selectively sealing the combustion chamber from the chamber when the chamber is reloaded with combustible gas.

  • Publication number: 20110044078
Abstract: A direct current to alternating current inverter is described herein. In an embodiment of the present subject matter, various direct voltage electrical potentials are applied to rings of a rotor so that each ring of the rotor is a different direct current potential. Preferably, the direct current potentials are applied in a manner so that the potential increases or decreases from a center ring to an outer ring, or vice versa. A stator has brush assembly having a series of brushes. Each brush is physically connected to a ring in such a way that the brush picks up the voltage. As a motor spins the rotor, the voltages picked up by the static brush assembly increase in positive potential, then decrease in positive potential, then increase in negative potential, and then finally decrease in negative potential, generating an alternating current.

  • Patent number: 7375489
Abstract: An apparatus generates sine waves of electromotive force (i.e. alternating current) from a battery. The battery includes a given number of cells connected in series. A stator and commutator is formed by a multiple of segments. Each of the segments is connected in sequence to a respective cell of the battery. The apparatus can be incorporated in a rotary switching device that further includes a rotor having at least one brush contacting the segments of the stator and commutator to carry a step waveform approximating a sine wave. The rotary switch can be included in various setups to provide a backup or alternate generator that provides alternating current.

  • Publication number: 20020135250
Abstract: A DC to AC inverter comprising a battery structured to provide a plurality of DC voltages and a switching system comprising a mechanical rotation system having a stator with a plurality of spaced-apart, conductive contacts, each electrically interconnected to one of the battery DC voltages and arranged so that, as the stator is circumvented in a single direction, the DC voltage of successive contacts increase in steps from 0 volts to the uppermost DC voltage and then decrease in steps to the lowermost voltage, and then increase in steps back to 0 volts, a rotor positioned within the stator and structured to revolve within the stator so that its conductive brushes electrically engage each contact during one revolution of the rotor, causing the brushes to pick up each contact's DC voltage as the brushes electrically engage each contact, and a motor structured to rotate the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5959370
Abstract: A differential voltage battery DC power supply for use with an electronic device, such as a computer, comprising a multi-cell battery, a plurality of regulators, at least one filter and a recharging circuit. The battery cells are electrically interconnected serially to produce positive voltages of 0 to positive 12 volts DC and negative voltages of 0 to negative 12 volts DC. The battery includes output terminals having output DC voltages closely corresponding to the input DC voltages required to power the electronic device. The output terminals are electrically interconnected to regulator circuitry, structured to drop the corresponding battery output terminal DC voltages to the input DC voltages required by the electronic device, and filters, structured to remove unwanted transients.
