  • Patent number: 8960563
Abstract: A mobile refrigerator unit is operated remotely via wireless technology using a system with a local maintenance switch. A local override switch turns the refrigerator unit on and off, but keeps it on in the event of failure of the maintenance switch.

  • Publication number: 20140213199
Abstract: An antenna switch is provided, comprising: an antenna cable connector that connects to a radio RF output port that both receives an RF signal at a receive frequency, and transmits an RF signal at a transmit frequency that differs from the receive frequency; an RF switch having a common contact that is switchable between a receive antenna contact and a transmit antenna contact; a level comparator comprising an input connected to the antenna cable that: when a voltage at the input is below a predefined threshold value, causes the RF switch to contact the receive antenna; and when the voltage at the input is above a predefined threshold value, causes the RF switch to contact the transmit antenna.

  • Patent number: 8704650
Abstract: To test whether a trailer is coupled to a tractor when the tractor ignition switch is off, a test switch in the trailer connects a high-impedance power source in a trailer to a line carrying energy from the tractor ignition switch to the trailer's electrical load, and measures the voltage at the line. A high voltage indicates a connection only to the electrical load in the trailer and thus a decouple. A low voltage indicates a measurement of the electrical loads in both trailer and tractor and hence a coupling.

  • Publication number: 20130261996
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining a level of fuel in a tank, comprising determining a dielectric constant of fuel in a tank; measuring a capacitance of an unknown depth of the fuel in the tank; and calculating the depth using the dielectric constant and the capacitance. Embodiments of the apparatus utilize a capacitor plate submerged in the fuel to determine the dielectric constant of the fuel, and then use a plate of a separate capacitor to determine the fuel level, once the dielectric constant is known.
