  • Patent number: 4225101
Abstract: A collision avoidance system having a seat parachute deployment system secured to the pilot's seat. The seat parachute deployment system has a flap member secured to the survival kit on the side remote from the pilot. The flap member drops down to prevent entanglement of the seat parachute or suspension lines with the pilot's legs. The seat parachute is stowed in an elongated sleeve on the flap and is drawn from the sleeve during seat separation. The suspension lines are stowed in a conventional manner. A connecting line, connected between the suspension lines and seat attachment lines, is stowed in elongated sleeves on the flap.

  • Patent number: 4114840
Abstract: A system for controlling the deployment of a parachute canopy having a pair of reinforcement ribbons secured to the canopy. The lower edge of the canopy is turned inward and has reefing rings which engage a reefing line that passes through reefing rings secured to the upper reinforcement ribbon. An anti-inversion netting is secured to the outer surface of the canopy adjacent the lower reinforcement ribbon; the anti-inversion netting has control lines connected to the lower edge adjacent alternate radial seams. The control lines have reefing rings which engage the reefing line. Suspension line guide rings secure the netting to the suspension lines at radial seams between those having the anti-inversion netting control lines.

  • Patent number: 4058276
Abstract: A system for attaching the pilot chute to the crown area of a main parachute having a parachute vent pull down apparatus including a thong-disc assembly and a crown line assembly secured to the pilot chute bridle. The pilot chute bridle is connected between the pilot chute and a position on the main parachute canopy adjacent the crown area. The pilot chute bridle and six crown lines are equally spaced around the crown area of the canopy. Each of the six crown lines includes a loop at their free ends. The thong-disc assembly includes six fabric thongs equally spaced together with the bridle around a circular disc. The crown line assembly includes seven panels with the pilot chute bridle line being secured along the junction of two panels and webbing member secured along other junction lines between panels. Pilot chute bridle attachment loops are connected to the webbing members and pass through a loop on the bridle.
