  • Patent number: 4756133
Abstract: A method for constructing building structures and the like includes erecting a footing frame, levelling the frame and any further building structure attached to the footing frame, and then pouring a footing using the framing effect of the footing frame. A footing frame apparatus for this purpose has form structure, stud track structure affixed to the form structure allowing the attachment of additional building structure to the form structure, and bracing structure to add strength and rigidity to the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4720957
Abstract: A component for erecting buildings and the like comprises a channel member preferably having a substantially squared-off C-shaped cross section with web portion, two flange portions on the web portion and two inwardly directed lips on the flange portions. A repeating pattern of longitudinally spaced large diameter apertures is provided in the web portion. A longitudinally repeating pattern of small diameter apertures is also provided in the web portion. A longitudinally repeating pattern of apertures is provided in each flange portion including a pentad with an aperture at four corners, defining an imaginary square and an aperture at the center of the square. A plurality of apertures is also provided in the inwardly directed lips. The building component is widely adaptable to a variety of different uses in building construction systems and for innumerable building designs.

  • Patent number: 4697393
Abstract: A metal building construction system includes a plurality of interfitting components for general purpose building requirements. Channel members of "C"-shaped cross-section define studs, headers and joists which are interconnected by means of adapters at the eaves and roof ridge. The adapters and channel members are attachable to one another at repetitive patterns of connection holes. The repetitive patterns of holes are also provided for engagement with siding and roofing, each of which has correctly-dimensioned structure for engaging the repeating patterns of holes and also for engaging a successive strip of such siding and roofing. Structural braces are also provided, as well as trim and incidental devices adapted for interconnecting certain specific parts, whereby a general purpose system applicable to a wide range of dimensions and designs is possible.

  • Patent number: 4688358
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for constructing buildings and the like, and particularly for constructing multistory structures. Adapters are disclosed which can be rapidly attached to girder members by attachment structure. The adapters are preferably prefabricated with flanges to form at least two receiving channels of uniform width and cross-section. Channel members preferably of C-shaped cross-section define studs and other building components which are interconnected by means of the adapters. The adapters and channel members are attachable to one another at repetitive patterns of connection holes.

  • Patent number: 4569169
Abstract: An apparatus for leveling floors and the like has base structure with support structure affixed thereto and projecting upwardly therefrom. The support structure defines an open-sided, open-topped slot. Wedge structure is positionable in the slot throughout the length of the support structure and is adapted for attachment to the support structure in a plurality of vertical positions. The wedge structure forms an abutment surface for supporting, and raising, a structural member disposed in the slot. Connecting structure detachably connects the wedge structure and the structural member to the support structure. Independent and alternate attachment to and repositioning of the wedge structure and the structural member to the support structure effects vertical adjustment of the structural member. Structure is provided to pull the wedge structure through the slot.

  • Patent number: 4551957
Abstract: A building structure having a plurality of substantially flat connector plate members, each having angularly related channel shaped receptacles to receive a plurality of load bearing girder, stud or rafter members. Each of the girder, stud or rafter members has a single channel shaped member for light constructions or a pair of oppositely directed channel shaped members having their webs secured together in back to back relation, and their flanges extending in opposite directions for use where heavy constructions or loads are involved. The girder, stud or rafter members are adapted to interfit with connector plate members in such a manner that the length of the girder, stud or rafter members can be extended in length by predetermined dimensional increments, such for example as at six inch spacings so as to readily permit the construction framework structures of any desired size.
