    Abstract: The present invention relates to the shaping of mixtures of thermoplastic binders with fibers, foam, granules etc. The shaped air- or steam-permeable materials are heated by means of steam and subsequently cooled down by applying a vacuum and evaporating the condensate obtained during the heating, so that the shape impressed by the mold is permanently retained. For performing the process, the mold must have particular properties.
