  • Publication number: 20080053533
Abstract: A gauge assembly includes an indicator for providing an indication of an amount of fluid in a tank and a stop-fill assembly for stopping the flow of fluid flowing into the tank once the fluid reaches a particular level. The gauge assembly has a shaft that rotates as the fluid level changes in the tank. The indicator translates the rotational position of the shaft into a fluid level. The stop-fill assembly moves from an open position, where fluid can flow into the tank, to a closed position, where fluid is prohibited from flowing into the tank, depending on the rotational position of the shaft.

  • Publication number: 20080047606
Abstract: A combination tank valve apparatus providing fluid flow control, overfill protection, and fluid level gauging for use on a storage tank for liquefied gas, the storage tank having an internally threaded outlet port. The apparatus includes a service valve having a body defining a tank connection, a valve seat, a valve outlet, and a pair of wrench flats. The apparatus also includes an overfill protection device mounted to the tank connection of the service valve and including a float, a shaft, a overfill valve, and a shaft magnet. The apparatus also includes a dial mounted on the body of the service valve and having a body, a dial magnet, and a pointer, the pointer being mounted on the dial magnet to rotate with the dial magnet and provide a visual indication of the liquid level within the tank.

  • Publication number: 20080035213
Abstract: A system for determining a fluid level in a pressurizable container comprising is disclosed. The system includes a service valve having a set of wrench flats defining parallel flat surfaces, one of the wrench flats having a recess defined entirely within its flat surface, a stop-fill device interconnected with the service valve and operable to rotate a first magnet inside the service valve in proximity to the recess in proportion to the amount of fluid in the pressurizable container, and a dial assembly having a dial face and a pointer attached to a second magnet, the second magnet housed in a magnet protrusion on a side of the dial face opposite the pointer and operable to fit into the recess in the service valve such that the dial moves on the dial face proportionately to the degree of rotation of the first magnet inside the service valve.

  • Publication number: 20060207324
Abstract: A float-type liquid level gauge assembly is provided for measuring the level of a liquid in a tank. The liquid level gauge is designed to reduce inventory requirements and to speed the assembly process. The gauge includes a gear housing having a lower longitudinal passageway, a shaped drive shaft, a shaft head with a first receptacle and a pinion gear with a second receptacle. The shaped drive ends mate with the first and second receptacles such that the drive shaft may be inserted into the receptacles at two or less orientations. The length of the first receptacle is less than the length of the lower longitudinal passageway, so that if the drive shaft slips down in the first receptacle the drive shaft will not completely fall out of the first receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20060012471
Abstract: A brake light warning system for safety helmets includes a transmitter module adapted for mounting to a vehicle, such as a motorcycle, and a receiver module adapted for mounting to a safety helmet. The transmitter module is configured to continuously transmit a transmission signal when a brake of the vehicle is disengaged and discontinue transmission of the transmission signal when a brake of the vehicle is engaged. The receiver module is configured to detect a presence or absence of the transmission signal from the transmitter module. The receiver module has at least one light generating element that illuminates or increases in brightness upon detection of the absence of the transmission signal to indicate that the vehicle brake is engaged.

  • Publication number: 20050269532
Abstract: An indicator for displaying either low liquid level or satisfactory liquid level conditions within a tank includes a sensor for detecting the liquid level conditions, a photodetector for detecting an ambient dark condition, a pair of indicator lights for indicating either the low liquid level or satisfactory liquid level conditions, and electrical circuitry operable to illuminate one of the indicator lights upon detection of the ambient dark condition by the photodetector and detection of either the low liquid level condition or satisfactory liquid level condition by the sensor.
