  • Publication number: 20160061258
Abstract: A needle bearing (1) with at least one bearing shell (3) for needle-shaped roller bodies (5) and with a cage (4) for guiding the roller bodies (5), wherein a retaining tab (10) formed on the cage (4) interacts axially with the bearing shell (3) for securing the cage (4). Furthermore, a roller bearing assembly with a needle bearing of this type is provided, additionally with a thrust washer (15) for securing the cage (4) that interacts axially with the cage (4), supplementing the interaction of the retaining tab (10) with the bearing shell (3).

  • Patent number: 8556519
Abstract: A radial roller bearing, in particular a single-track ball roller bearing, which has an outer bearing ring with an inner groove track, an inner bearing ring with an outer groove track and ball rollers, which are disposed parallel to one another and held in a peripheral direction at even distances from one another by a plastic bearing cage, that roll between the bearing rings in the groove tracks. Each roller has two lateral surfaces that are flattened symmetrically from a spherical base form and a defined axial tilting clearance. The cage has two axially separated, pocketed cage halves which can be assembled in a positive-fitted, form-locked or integral fashion by opposing connecting elements.

  • Publication number: 20090208161
Abstract: The invention relates to a cage segment for the cage of a roller bearing, having at least two peripheral sections extending in the peripheral direction and at least two connecting sections. The peripheral sections and the connecting sections form at least one pocket for receiving a rolling body. The cage segment has a coupling unit which connects the front of the cage segment to another cage segment.

  • Patent number: 6416230
Abstract: A plastic snap cage for radial ball bearings includes thin-walled cup-like pocket elements spaced about the circumference and connected with each other in one piece through ribs, thereby forming pockets that are open in the axial direction to receive the balls. The radially inwardly and/or the radially outwardly extending boundary edge of the pockets is rounded in accordance with a selected rounding radius R.

  • Patent number: 6261005
Abstract: The invention concerns a rolling bearing cage (1, 21) made of a resilient plastic and comprising at at least one peripheral point, an axially extending gap (2) formed by a first cage end (4) and a second cage end (3) which is spaced from the first cage end (4), each of the first and the second cage ends (4, 3) comprising at least one projection and at least one recess, said recess and projection having complementary shapes, and as viewed in axial direction, the recess and the projection partially engage each other, and as viewed in peripheral direction, the recess and the projection partially overlap each other.

  • Patent number: 6042275
Abstract: The pockets (10) of a cage (5) of a radial rolling bearing comprise retention elements on the inner rolling element holding member or on the outer rolling element holding member which retain the rolling elements (6) in contact with an outer raceway or an inner raceway during the mounting operation. In this way, a sag of the cylinder rollers (6) due to the force of gravity is prevented so that a shaft (4) can be pushed into the bearing without any problem. These retention elements have such a filigree and elastically deformable configuration that they are ineffective during the operation of the bearing after a few rotations so that a normal operational clearance is established between the rolling elements (6) and the cage (5).

  • Patent number: 5632562
Abstract: A bearing assembly for supporting a shaft without play, in particular for use with a steering shaft in a steering column, includes a plurality of needle-like rollers that are circumscribed by a thin-walled, split bush for elastically loading the rollers in radial direction. Fitted about the bush is an elastic ring that applies a preload on the bush and has at least one peripheral surface formed with neighboring ridges of relatively greater radial dimension and relatively smaller radial dimension in alternating relationship.
