  • Patent number: 4293076
Abstract: A clothes hanger bar for use with garment shipping cartons and portable wardrobes includes a main bar portion and integral end support members which engage and rest on the upper ends of a pair of opposite walls of the clothes container. The main bar and end support members are cold-stamped from a single sheet of metal. The juncture region of the main bar and end supports is of a special configuration which facilitates cold-stamping manufacture of the device without sacrificing strength and rigidity. The end support members are provided with an arrangement of barbs which engage the sidewalls of the carton to securely lock the hanger bar in place on the carton. A locking bar is provided to overlie the main support bar after the hangers are in place and to secure the hangers in their supported positions on the bar. Various means are disclosed for removably securing the locking bar to the main support bar structure.

  • Patent number: 4240550
Abstract: An agitator and basket for a top loading clothes washing machine is protected from damage during shipment by a plurality of rigid foam plastic braces which are arranged radially about the agitator. The inner ends of the braces are urged snugly into engagement with the upper end of the agitator of the machine and the outer ends of the braces are urged firmly into engagement with the machine housing and the upper end of the clothes basket of the machine. The inner and outer ends of the brace are of a special configuration which enhances the security and ease with which the braces engage the machine.

  • Patent number: 4113094
Abstract: A shipping and display container for cut flowers includes a stackable box having means for supporting a partly filled bucket of water in which the stems of the cut flowers are placed. The box is formed from a blank which, when folded to the box configuration, effects an improved seal at the lower corner regions of the box to retard leaking of water from the box. A false bottom holds the bucket in place. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the flower bucket is molded from plastic and has integral side flanges which extend downwardly from the mouth of the bucket in a somewhat pyramid shape to define a self-supporting arrangement for the bucket. The lower edges of the flanges are upturned to provide a water receptive trough to retard leakage of water from the box.
