  • Patent number: 4432081
Abstract: An improvement in a date indexing device for an analog watch using manual indexing of a date ring with a push button. The indexing member indexes the date ring with a pawl guided onto the toothed rim of the date while one of the driving gear elements for the date ring is disengaged by moving an elastically yieldable support for the gear element.

    Assignee: Timex Corporation
Inventors: Herbert Schwartz, Jean P. Skwarek
  • Patent number: 4311512
Abstract: Novel bactericidal water-soluble complexes comprising a quaternary ammonium salt and a tricyclic, cage-type heterocycle containing four nitrogen atoms in molar ratios of 1:4 and 3:2 which are effective against both gram negative and gram positive bacteria, fungi, molds, and algae and to a novel method of killing same and novel pesticidal compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 8, 1978
Date of Patent: January 19, 1982
    Inventor: Herbert Schwartz
  • Patent number: 4202882
Abstract: A method of combatting offsensive odors comprising contacting the odorant with a solution containing a quaternary ammonium salt catalyst with a tetracyclic heterocycle containing four nitrogen atoms which is capable of removing malodors by reaction therewith.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 21, 1975
Date of Patent: May 13, 1980
    Inventor: Herbert Schwartz
  • Patent number: 4128992
Abstract: A rocking motor for driving an indexing element in a quartz controlled analog wristwatch is impulsed once per minute. The indexing element and the indexed "center" wheel are carried between parallel shunt plates holding the permanent magnet. The driving element is deflected by a pulse from its rest position to tension a spring, and the minute wheel is indexed when the driving element is returned by the reset spring.

Date of Patent: December 12, 1978
    Assignee: Timex Corporation

  • Patent number: 4032827
Abstract: A crystal oscillator controlled stepping motor for a timekeeping device having the high frequency oscillator coupled to a divider which reduces the oscillator frequency to the required output frequency which, in turn, is coupled to the driver circuit arrangement. The driver circuit arrangement provides drive pulses to the stepping motor in response to the output of the divider and a feedback signal from the stepping motor. The driver circuit arrangement in response to the output of the divider and the feedback signal detects faulty indexing steps and skipped or missed indexing steps and provides drive pulses to effect a remedial action.
