  • Publication number: 20050067024
Abstract: A reverse-flow throttle valve and a high-pressure injection system equipped with the reverse-flow throttle valve in which the valve is seated in a through bore of the rail and is thus disposed in the fuel flow between the rail volume and the injector line leading to the fuel injector.

  • Patent number: 6845757
Abstract: The fuel injection system has one high-pressure fuel pump and one fuel injection valve for one cylinder of the engine. The fuel pump has a work chamber, and the injection valve has a valve member, and which is movable in an opening direction, counter to the force of a closing spring, by the pressure in a pressure chamber communicating with the pump work chamber; the closing spring is braced between the injection valve member and a displaceable deflection piston which, defines a prechamber that communicates with the pump work chamber. The deflection piston is movable into a storage chamber counter to the force of the closing spring. The prechamber communicates with the pump work chamber via a first throttle restriction, and the pressure chamber of the fuel injection valve communicates with the pump work chamber via a second throttle restriction, circumventing the prechamber.

  • Publication number: 20040099250
Abstract: The fuel injection system has one high-pressure fuel pump (10) and one fuel injection valve (12) for one cylinder of the engine. The high-pressure fuel pump has a pump work chamber (22), and the fuel injection valve (12) has an injection valve member (28), by which at least one injection opening (32) is controlled and which is movable in an opening direction (29), counter to the force of a closing spring (44), by the pressure prevailing in a pressure chamber (40) communicating with the pump work chamber (22); the closing spring (44) is braced on one end on the injection valve member (28) and on the other on a displaceable deflection piston (50), which on its side remote from the closing spring (44) defines a prechamber (85) that communicates with the pump work chamber (22). The deflection piston (50) is movable into a storage chamber (55) counter to the force of the closing spring (44).

  • Patent number: 6305359
Abstract: A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, having an axially movable valve member which, with its end oriented toward the combustion chamber, opens and closes a through flow cross section to at least one injection opening and which, with its end remote from the combustion chamber, protrudes into a fuel-filled spring chamber in which a valve spring is clamped, which acts on the valve member in the closing direction and is supported with its end remote from the valve member against a deflecting piston which, during the supply of high pressure fuel to the fuel injection valve, can be moved a certain distance into the spring chamber and thereby increases the initial stress force of the valve spring, and having a connecting conduit between the spring chamber and a low pressure fuel chamber. The connecting conduit between the spring chamber and the low pressure fuel chamber is embodied as a throttle bore in order to increase the injection opening pressure.

  • Patent number: 6283390
Abstract: A fuel injection device for internal combustion engines, having a fuel injection pump, which can be inserted into a housing of the engine and is axially clamped together with a fuel injection valve by means of a clamping sleeve. The valve, with an end remote from the pump, protrudes into a combustion chamber of the engine. A fuel supply line to the fuel injection pump feeds into an annular chamber encompassing the clamping sleeve and, via through openings in the clamping sleeve and inlet conduits in the pump housing, the valve can be connected to a pump working chamber of fuel injection pump. According to the invention, the fuel filter in the inlet to the pump working chamber is constituted by the clamping sleeve, which has a multitude of filter openings for this purpose in its circumference wall, in the vicinity of the annular chamber.

  • Patent number: 5709195
Abstract: A fuel injection device with a pump plunger which is driven in reciprocation and a working space which is enclosed by the pump plunger, and is connected to an injection valve connected directly to the pump housing. To control the fuel injection quantity and the injection instant, a solenoid valve is provided which is arranged in a fuel passage that is connected to the pump working space and serves for the filling and/or relief of the pump working space. To reduce the volumes subjected to the high pressure, the fuel passage is arranged in such a way that the fuel passage intersects the cylinder bore which accommodates the pump working space, and the solenoid valve is arranged at the entry of this passage.
