Publication number: 20080305198Abstract: A pipe extrusion plant for producing pipes with a variable diameter includes an extruder, an adjustable calibration device, and a cooling device, whereby a pipe to be produced is guided at least in part during the production process. In order to be able to provide a guide that is suited to different pipe diameters, a roll assembly is provided to include a row of rolls which are placed one behind the other in a take-off direction, with each roll mounted in a bracket and supported to allow vertical positioning thereof in dependence on the pipe diameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2008Publication date: December 11, 2008Applicant: Krauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik GmbHInventor: Herbert ULRICH

Patent number: 7396224Abstract: A calibration basket is configured for a calibration station disposed in an apparatus for producing plastic tubes. The calibration basket contains calibration tools that are successively disposed at a distance from each other across the circumference of the tube. The calibration tools are embodied as calibration strips that extend in the longitudinal direction of the tube that is to be calibrated, are disposed so as to be adjustable on displacement spindles, and are provided with one respective sliding surface that enters in contact with the tube. Recesses that are connected to discharge ports are embodied in a sliding surface and are provided within the calibration strip. The discharge ports extend in a direction of the longitudinal axis of the calibration strip.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2006Date of Patent: July 8, 2008Assignee: Egeplast Werner Strumann GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Herbert Ulrich

Patent number: 7335010Abstract: A device for producing rigid plastic pipes of an approximately cylindrical shape, contains an extruder and a calibrating station following in the direction of production, which has calibrating tools to calibrate the outside diameter of the already partly hardened pipe. The calibrating tools bear against the outside wall of the pipe, lamellae serving as calibrating tools being respectively connected to spindles, which, for adaptation to different outside diameters of pipes that are to be calibrated, being adjustable in a radial direction perpendicular to the axis of the calibrating device and feed axis of the pipe that is to be extruded.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2005Date of Patent: February 26, 2008Assignee: Egeplast Werner Strumann GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Herbert Ulrich, Joachim Werner

Publication number: 20060186584Abstract: In a method for producing plastic pipes, a melt strand is produced in an extruder and pushed through a pipe head for entry into a vacuum suction device, where the melted strand is formed into a pipe with a preliminary outer diameter. A selected sizing sleeve of a plurality of different sizing sleeves is placed in a sizing chamber for calibrating the outer diameter of the pipe in the sizing chamber to a desired dimension. Different sizing sleeves can be inserted into a sizing chamber. This can be achieved by a gripping device, whereby either the tubular melt strand is severed to allow axial insertion of the selected sizing sleeve over the pipe or into the sizing chamber, or the extrusion line is operated at creep speed, to allow the sizing sleeve to be placed around the pipe. The sizing sleeve is hereby split into segments for placement about the pipe, and the sizing sleeve is then inserted into the sizing chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2006Publication date: August 24, 2006Applicant: KRAUSS-MAFFEI KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK GMBHInventor: Herbert Ulrich

Patent number: 5783119Abstract: The liquid distributor for columns has liquid outlet openings and fine distribution elements with a guide wall associated with them. A preselectable amount of liquid can be supplied into the associated fine distribution element via each outlet opening. A plate-like element communicating with the guide wall is arranged in each fine distribution element, with a communicating chain of capillary openings forming a distribution zone and drain-off zone between the edge of the element and the guide wall. This chain extends along a horizontal, closed curve.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1997Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: Sulzer Chemtech AGInventors: Herbert Ulrich, Emil Fehr
