  • Patent number: 5349019
Abstract: New copolymers, mixtures thereof with poly(meth)acrylate esters and the use thereof for improving the cold fluidity of crude oils.Copolymers comprising as comonomers therein from 50 to 99.9% by weight of a C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 -alkyl(meth)acrylate and 50 to 0.1% by weight of a comonomer derived from a compound comprising a single polymerizable C.dbd.C group and these copolymers or their mixture with C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 -alkyl poly(meth)acrylates having enhanced pour point depressant properties.

  • Patent number: 5041553
Abstract: In the process for the preparation of 2-substituted 1-(acylaminoalkyl)-2-imidazolines of the general formula I ##STR1## wherein R denotes an alkylene radical and R.sup.1 denotes a fatty acid radical, for example, a fatty acid and a dialkylenetriamine are reacted in a molar ratio of (1.9 to 2.0): 1 in such a way that the dialkylenetriamine is initially introduced hot under an inert gas atmosphere and the fatty acid is metered in hot and the amido amine formation is subsequently completed by heating to temperatures from 140.degree. to 190.degree. C. and the cyclization to the compound of the formula I is subsequently carried out at an under-pressure of at least 50 mbar.

  • Patent number: 4985048
Abstract: Polymer mixtures of a copolymer (A.sub.1) made from 10-60% by weight of vinyl acetate and 40-90% by weight of ethylene or a copolymer (A.sub.2) made from 15-50% by weight of vinyl acetate, 0.5-20% by weight of C.sub.6 -C.sub.24 -.alpha.-olefin and 30-70% by weight of ethylene, and a copolymer (B) made from 10-90% by weight of C.sub.6 -C.sub.24 -.alpha.-olefin and 10-90% by weight of N-C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 -alkylmaleiimide, the mixing ratio of copolymers (A.sub.1) or (A.sub.2) to (B) being 100:1 to 1:1. These polymer mixtures are employed as flow improvers in mineral oil distillates.
