  • Patent number: 10009682
Abstract: A new audio transducer for mobile devices having a collar with side openings that provide side venting to a back volume within an enclosure. The side openings eliminate the need for a typical frame and back vents thereon, which leads to a smaller size speaker. Each of the side openings have a maximum size less than the size of an adsorber material, which prevents the adsorber material coming into contact with the magnets, coil, and membrane of the speaker. The side openings and the size thereof also permit the enclosure to be directly filled with an adsorber material. The direct filling of the adsorber leads to more even and complete distribution of the adsorber within the back volume, which, in turn, improves sound quality of the speaker.

  • Publication number: 20180007471
Abstract: An electrodynamic transducer having a coil, a membrane, and a plate is disclosed, wherein the transducer is adapted to generate a sound pressure level in the human-audible acoustic range and the ultrasonic range so that the transducer may be used as a speaker and an ultrasonic proximity sensor. The transducer may be adapted to generate a sound pressure level above about 88 dB between 20 kHz and 70 kHz. The plate may include a structural rigidity increasing feature such as a domed portion or a population of ribs, which may increase the generated sound pressure level in the ultrasonic range. The transducer may also include a front resonator which may be used to further tune and/or increase the generated sound pressure level in the ultrasonic range.

  • Patent number: 9749742
Abstract: The invention relates to a new audio transducer for mobile devices, in particular a micro speaker for use in mobile phones, tablets, gaming devices, notebooks or similar devices, that comprises two figure-8 shaped coils to compensate tumbling passively or to detect and compensate actively rocking modes of the membrane along the two axes perpendicular to the axis of piston-wise movement of the membrane using a detection coil and a damping coil per axis. An amplifier may be used to amplify the detection signal in order to increase the damping effect. Electrical rocking mode compensation replaces state of the art damping mechanisms which are based on damping materials added in the moving part of the membrane. Due to the independence of environmental conditions electrical damping outperforms existing damping techniques.

  • Patent number: 9712913
Abstract: A gas adsorbing material is provided. Specifically, there is provided a molded matrix of a plurality of spherically-shaped gas adsorbing material. The individual spheres comprise particles of a highly porous gas adsorbing material and a binder. The plurality of spheres are mixed with a second binder material and molded into a desired shape for use in the back volume of an acoustic transducer such as a loudspeaker device, a microphone or a balanced armature receiver.
