  • Publication number: 20140333015
Abstract: A furnace for a heat treating of annealing stock, wherein the furnace comprises a closeable first furnace chamber which is designed for receiving and for heat treating of annealing stock by means of thermally interacting the annealing stock with a heatable or coolable first annealing gas in the first furnace chamber, and a removable first protective hood by means of which the first furnace chamber can be closed. Further, a first heat exchange device which is at least partially located in the interior of the first furnace chamber closed by means of the first protective hood is provided for heat exchanging with the first annealing gas within the first protective hood. The heat exchange device is arranged in such a manner relative to a first annealing gas ventilator for driving the annealing gas that, in each operating state of the furnace, the annealing gas driven by the first annealing gas ventilator blows against the heat exchange device.

  • Patent number: 8790115
Abstract: A method is described for preheating annealing goods in a hood-type annealing installation, comprising two annealing bases (1, 2) which accommodate the annealing goods (3, 4) under a protective cover (7, 8), with the annealing goods (3) to be subjected to a heat treatment under a protective cover (8) being preheated with the help of a gaseous heat carrier which is guided in a cycle between two protective covers (7, 8) and absorbs heat from annealing goods (4) which are heat-treated in a protective cover (7) and emits it to the annealing goods (3) to be preheated in the other protective cover (8). In order to avoid contaminations of the heat-treated annealing goods (4) it is proposed that the heat carrier flow guided in a cycle flows around the two protective covers (7, 8) on the outside, whereas a protective gas is circulated within the protective covers (7, 8).

  • Patent number: 8652396
Abstract: A method continuously creates a bainite structure in a carbon steel, especially a strip steel by austenitizing the carbon steel; introducing the austenitized carbon steel into a bath containing a quenching agent; adjusting the carbon steel to the transformation temperature for bainite and maintaining the transformation temperature for a certain period of time; and then cooling the carbon steel. The carbon steel stays in the bath until a defined percentage of the bainite structure relative to the total structure of the carbon steel has formed. Residues of the quenching agent are removed from the surface of the carbon steel by blowing the same off when the carbon steel is discharged from the bath, and the remaining structure components of the carbon steel are then transformed into bainite in an isothermal tempering station without deflecting the carbon steel at all.

  • Patent number: 7875235
Abstract: A method is described for batchwise heat treatment of goods to be annealed which are heated in a heating chamber after scavenging air with a scavenging gas under protective gas to a predetermined treatment temperature, with the protective gas being conveyed through the heating chamber depending on the occurrence of impurities in different quantities. In order to enable the economic use of protective gas, it is proposed that the protective gas which is withdrawn from the heating chamber after the main occurrence of impurities and which is loaded with a residual quantity of impurities is conveyed, optionally after intermediate storage, into the heating chamber during the main occurrence of impurities of a subsequent batch before non-loaded protective gas is introduced into the heating chamber.
