One of the plate portions is associated with the discharge zone and in the vicinity of the valve tongue is provided with at least one arched portion for limiting opening of the valve tongue. Each spray nozzle is oriented for spraying lubricant onto the underside of a piston. Each spray nozzle is formed by a lathe process.

The side projections and the stiffening elements each have an open profile that does not comprise any fully encircled apertures in which a casting sand core may remain after casting.
