  • Patent number: 8223762
Abstract: A private IP address is converted into a public IP address in a communications network without adapting a client software. The conversion of the private IP addresses into the public IP addresses is carried out via a network address translation. The private IP address of each terminal included in a payload of the IP data packet is convertible into a corresponding public IP address and, if necessary, vice-versa.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 2006
Date of Patent: July 17, 2012
Assignee: Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co. KG
Inventors: Alfons Fartmann, Martina Kauffmann, Karl Klaghofer, Gerald Liebe, Heribert Müller, Michael Tietsch, Jürgen Totzke, Oliver Veits
  • Patent number: 7903636
Abstract: According to the invention, a power characteristic information concerning a power characteristic profile of a target terminal is transmitted to a base terminal, before transferring signaling of a connection set up from a base terminal to a target terminal. As a result of the connection set up signaling, a power characteristic request is transferred based on the power characteristic information.

  • Patent number: 7359320
Abstract: The method is essentially carried out by a gateway device, which is logically divided up into a gateway controller and one or, if required, more user data gateways. Quality of service signaling is evaluated by the gateway controller and, depending thereon, quality of service information is transferred to a user data gateway. Specific quality of service properties of connection segments coming into and/or going out from the user data gateway are evaluated by the user data gateway and, depending thereon, a quality of service setting is carried out according to the transferred quality of service information.

  • Patent number: 7227922
Abstract: Method of transmission of data between at least two communication devices which are connected together over a data network. The communication devices are respectively connected to a coding device and the sent data are source-and channel-coded by a coding method respectively furnished within the coding devices. The data are converted within a converting device connected to the data network.

  • Publication number: 20060209873
Abstract: The invention relates to a communication network, comprising a call control level (CCL), a resource control level (RCL) and at least one endpoint (A), associated with an information transfer, whereby a request (RQ) for a quality of service (QoS), determined for an information transfer is only exhaustively verified at the call control level (CCL). Subsequently, an encoded token (T) is formed and transmitted to the resource control level (RCL) by means of the endpoint (A). The above verifies a QoS request (RQ) coming from the endpoint (A), merely by means of the decoded token (T). Where successful the communication network is configured such that information with the QoS verified as above is transmitted. The invention permits an efficient secure and accurate provision of QoS in integrated speech and data networks. In particular extensive modifications to existing routers in the resource control level (RCL) are avoided.

  • Publication number: 20040249963
Abstract: The invention relates to a network gateway device, which permits a logically direct, transport protocal-based coupling of several VoIP communications networks with different, connection control protocols that are attached to the packet-oriented transport protocol. To achieve this, for each of the VoIP communications networks to be coupled, the network gateway has a respective transport protocol-based data interface, a connection control protocol-based signaling interface, in addition to a conversion device for conversion between the different connection control protocols.
