    Abstract: A dowel pin of the type used in mounting an artificial tooth during construction of a dental bridge.The pin has a body portion and a head portion, the body portion is characterized by a double taper configuration, the head portion is characterized by a plurality of tooth-engaging barbs, one of which is detachable, and said body and head portions both are characterized by a flat that is formed along the collective length thereof to hold the pin against rotation when it is inserted in a complementally formed keyway.
