  • Patent number: 10561506
Abstract: An orthopedic joint system having an upper part and a lower part mounted thereon so as to pivot about a pivoting axis, and a pawl which prevents in a locking position any relative movement between the upper part and the lower part about the pivoting axis, and allows in a release position a relative movement about the pivoting axis. The pawl, in the locking position, interlockingly engages a locking element and can be shifted to the release position via a pull element, a first end of the pull element being attached to the upper part or to the lower part and moved along the outside of the pawl in a curved section, and a second end of the pull element being provided with an actuating device which causes the curved section to be shortened and the pawl to be moved to the release position when the actuating device is actuated.

  • Publication number: 20190231560
Abstract: A prosthetic knee joint includes an upper part, a lower part which is arranged pivotably to the upper part, a fastening device arranged on the upper part for a proximal prosthetic element, a fastening device arranged on the lower part for a distal prosthetic element, a four-limbed joint system with four linkages articulatedly fastened to each other, which are each pivotable to each other around a pivot axis, wherein the upper part is arranged on the joint system. The joint system may be mounted pivotably on the lower part from a starting position counter to a spring force during a stance phase flexion, and the action line of the spring force may be aligned such that a moment acting against an inflexion of the joint system is present.

  • Publication number: 20180289514
Abstract: A prosthesis for a residual limb includes an element for receiving a stump fitted on or established by a support part, a distal prosthetic part, and an absorbing system. The distal prosthetic part is assembled on the support part by a pivot link forming a joint to enable flexion or extension of the distal prosthetic part with respect to the element for receiving. The absorbing system absorbs the flexion or extension efforts and is connected to the distal prosthetic part and to one of a rod or a lever that is pivotally fitted on the distal prosthetic device. The rod is mounted to the lever and to the support part.

  • Publication number: 20180177617
Abstract: A method for controlling an orthopedic joint of a lower extremity in at least one degree of freedom by means of an adjustable actuator for adjusting an orthopedic apparatus to walking situations that differ from walking on a plane. The orthopedic apparatus comprises top connecting members to connect to a limb, and an orthopedic element that is hingedly arranged distal to the connecting members. The method includes sensing, with sensors, several parameters of the orthopedic apparatus; comparing the sensed parameters with criteria that have been established based on several parameters and/or parameter curves and are stored in a computer unit; selecting a criterion that is suitable on the basis of the determined parameters and/or parameter curves; and adjusting resistances to movements, extents of movements, driving forces, and/or the progresses thereof in accordance with the selected criterion in order to control special functions that differ from walking on a plane.

  • Publication number: 20170304081
Abstract: A prosthesis with a support part on which a pivot joint is secured or formed. A distal prosthesis component is secured to the support part via the pivot joint, and the pivot joint allows a flexion and extension of the distal prosthesis component about a pivot axis relative to the receiving element or to the support part. A damping device, spring device, and/or actuator is arranged between the distal prosthesis component and the support part, and the damping device, spring device, and/or actuator is mounted on the distal prosthesis component using a first bearing point and is mounted on a lever or an arm using a second bearing point. The lever is mounted on the distal prosthesis component in a pivotal manner about a pivot axis. A distal portion of the arm is mounted on the lever, and a proximal portion is mounted on the support part.
