  • Publication number: 20020070107
Abstract: An innovative application for the purification of potable water for at source use, specifically focusing on disinfection of water using an electrolytic process. The process uses the discharge of electrical energy between electrodes to create reactive species in water, which then react with pathogens to provide the disinfected water. The invention includes a novel and unique controller system to assure that the reaction process and reactor will function reliably to produce treated water. The controller may respond to flow or pressure conditions, reactor status, treatment effectiveness, or other parameters monitored by various sensing devices. Specific examples of the application are for use in beverage dispensing machines, ice-making machines, tap water purification for domestic and commercial potable water use, water dispenser machines that use tap water, and similar uses for potable water.

  • Patent number: 6039220
Abstract: The present invention comprises a below countertop dispenser that provides for reliable less destructive dispensing of ice, and that can fully remove the ice from the storage bin thereof. The invention herein utilizes a two part mechanism for lifting ice from the storage bin to a dispense chute positioned above the countertop. A disk type agitator/lift mechanism is first used to lift the ice to an ice channel communicating with the bottom of an auger housing. The bottom of the auger housing is positioned above the bottom most point of the ice storage bin. An auger is positioned vertically in the auger housing and provides for lifting ice from the bottom of the auger housing to the dispense chute.

  • Patent number: 5350086
Abstract: An ice chest-type soft drink dispenser containing a body of ice in contact with a cold plate at the bottom thereof. The cold plate contains syrup and carbonated water tubes through which syrup and carbonated water passes, respectively. A pre-chill coil of a plurality of turns of tubing embedded in an aluminum body is provided, separate from the cold plate and the tubing is in fluid communication with the carbonated water tube and a source of carbonated water.

  • Patent number: 4671052
Abstract: A lawn mower comprises a housing enclosing a rotary cutting blade and including a downwardly depending sidewall which extends radially outwardly of the path of cutting blade rotation and includes a rearward section having a lower edge which extends generally adjacent to the plane of cutting blade rotation and generally transversely of the direction of intended mower travel. A rearward foot guard assembly is carried by the housing and includes a portion which rigidly extends below and outwardly of the rearward section lower edge to prevent operator foot contact with the mower blade.

  • Patent number: 4258536
Abstract: A rotary lawn mower comprises a chassis, a prime mover mounted on the chassis, and a rotating member operatively connected with the prime mover for rotation within the chassis and having a peripheral edge. A cutting blade is movably secured to the rotating member for movement between a retracted position in which the cutting blade is positioned inwardly of the peripheral edge and an extended position in which the cutting blade extends outwardly beyond the peripheral edge. A control mechanism is connected to the chassis and movable axially of the axis of rotation of the rotating member for moving the cutting blade between the retracted and extended positions.
