  • Patent number: 5927602
Abstract: An air brush is provided with a handle, a front body and a paint regulating needle. The handle and the front body together define a tubular cavity through which the paint regulating needle is carried. A needle chuck releasably holds the paint regulating needle in the tubular cavity. The handle further defines a portal through which the needle chuck may be accessed. One end of the paint regulating needle extends outside of the handle and defines a stop and its other end extends through the handle and the front body. The needle chuck may be loosened, at the portal, to release the needle. The needle can then be grasped at the stop and pulled out of the airbrush so that the needle can be cleaned or replaced without disassembling the airbrush.

  • Patent number: 5687913
Abstract: An air brush is provided with a handle, a front body, an adjusting screw and a paint regulating needle. The handle, front body and the adjusting screw together define a tubular cavity through which the paint regulating needle is held. One end of the paint regulating needle extends outside of the handle and defines a stop which the adjusting screw cannot pass and its other end extends through the handle and the front body. A spring biases the paint regulating needle forward so that paint cannot flow out of the front body until desired. The adjusting screw can be screwed outwardly from the handle so that it pushes on the stop and pushes the paint regulating needle back, against the pull of the spring. This allows the opening of the paint flow path and the subsequent expulsion of paint from the air brush. Adjustment of the adjusting screw allows the regulation of the amount of paint that flows from the air brush.

  • Patent number: 5421518
Abstract: An airbrush which comprises a front body through which air and paint are directed is provided. A head, having a tube known as a post, is removably attached to the front body. A paint tip and a regulator, removably attached to the head, are also provided. The regulator comprises a detachable holding ring and a regulating tip. The paint tip is secured to the head by the holding ring when the paint tip is placed within the post and the holding ring is attached to the head. The regulating tip can be detached from the airbrush while the paint tip remains secured by the holding ring. The head, paint tip and regulator, comprising a crown, are interchangeable with other crowns.

  • Patent number: 5366158
Abstract: An airbrush which comprises a handle and a front body is provided. The handle and the front body together define a tubular cavity through which air may travel. The air brush defines a longitudinal axis. The front body is rotationally connected to the handle in such a way that the tubular cavity is in communication through the handle and the front body as the front body is rotated about the longitudinal axis of the airbrush.

  • Patent number: 4589597
Abstract: A rotary atomizer spray painting device having a nonconductive fixed, axial tube for feeding paint, and having a nonconductive rotor supported for rotation in a nonconductive housing about the tube on air bearings or nonconductive ball bearings, and having turbine drive blades proximate one end thereof, the rotatable rotor supported inside of a nonconductive housing which has a high voltage electrical path therethrough, electrically connected to one or more symmetrically spaced forwardly projecting needle electrodes, the rotatable rotor being fixedly attached to a nonconductive forwardly projecting bell-shaped atomizer, the housing having pressurized air inlets for directing air in driving relationship to the turbine blades.
