    Abstract: A container for pencils or similar elongated articles comprising a hollow base portion, a shell cover means for the hollow base portion and a plurality of radially extending partitions allowing maintenance of separation, ready storage, and convenient flaring upon removal of the cover. The ratio of the height of the lateral wall to the radius of the base portion is such as to prevent pencils from falling out of the container while allowing the pencils to flare from the vertical upon removal of the cover.
