Abstract: A guide rail clamping assembly for elevator guide rails in which an intermediate mounting member having tapped openings and bolts attach rail clips to the guide rails, while thereafter permitting this whole assembly to be positionally adjusted as a unit. The bolts extend through openings in still another mounting member, and nuts engage the bolts to fix the unit to the associated building once it is correctly positioned. Each rail clip has first and second ends, with the first end being adapted to overlap a flange of the guide rail. An elongated opening extends between the ends of each rail clip, and the second end defines a notch. The intermediate mounting member has first and second ends, each of which defines a projection which is adapted to successively cooperate with an elongated slot during assembly of the guide rail, and with the notch during the clamping of the rail clip to the guide rail flange.

Abstract: A coupling for positively engaging solid and hollow driving and driven shafts, and for achieving shaft concentricity. Inclined and straight registering surfaces in the two shafts are coupled with keys having mating surfaces, with the keys being independently axially movable by bolts engaged with tapped openings in one of the shafts.

Abstract: A guide rail clamping method and assembly including a rail bracket attached to a building, a tapped intermediate support member, rail clips, bolts and nuts. The bolts are turned to tightly clamp the guide rail between the rail clips and intermediate support member, to create a unitary assembly, and the nuts are turned on the bolts to tightly clamp the unitary assembly to the rail bracket. This enables the guide rails to be firmly clamped by their rail clips while the nuts are loosened to permit the guide rail to be accurately positioned in both the fore-aft direction, and B.G. direction.

Abstract: A corner post platform assembly for supporting an elevator cab having door openings in two adjacent wall portions, including a safety brake assembly, a support frame, and a floating platform. The safety assembly includes mounting plate members at its opposite ends, upon which the support frame is mounted, and the floating platform is connected to the support frame via resilient spacer and mounting devices.
