  • Patent number: 5270013
Abstract: An apparatus for mixing and dispensing two or more reactive liquids in a homogeneous stream. The device includes a mixing chamber with two or more inlets for introducing separate liquid components into the chamber, a recycle port associated with each inlet for directing unmixed components back to their source, and an outlet for dispensing mixed liquid components from the chamber. Replaceable insert nozzles direct the stream of liquid components into the chamber at a desired angle away from the outlet. A piston purges the mixing chamber of mixed fluids. A reciprocating sleeve coaxial with the shaft of the purge piston includes axial slots disposed to direct the flow of unmixed components from each inlet to its associated recycle port during purging of the mixing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4778083
Abstract: An apparatus for mixing and dispensing fluid components includes a mixing chamber for mixing reactive components prior to dispensing the components. The components are provided through separate valves to ducts in fluid communication with inlets to the mixing chamber. The valve actuator can be selectively positioned to prevent one of the valve from opening. The valves are ball valves which are actuated by a hydraulic actuator acting through a rack and gear system. The rack is cylindrical with a flat spot formed thereon for preventing rotation of an associated one of the gears as the actuator is moved.

  • Patent number: 4471887
Abstract: A device for mixing and dispensing two or more reactive liquids into a homogeneous stream. The device includes a mixing chamber with two or more inlets for introducing separate liquid components into and an outlet for dispensing the mixed liquid components from the chamber. Separate passages connect each inlet to a separate source of liquid. Also, each passage includes an on-off valve disposed between the liquid source and the inlet and each passage also includes a pressure opening truncated cone pin check valve seated in close position in a truncated inlet to the mixing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4169545
Abstract: A plural component dispensing system includes supplies which furnish first and second components under pressure to a dispensing apparatus having first and second valves, respectively. Each of the valves includes a rotatable valve member in a combination retainer and seat. The valves are connected to first and second pinion gears, respectively, and a rack engages each of the pinion gears. The rack is attached to a piston which is disposed for reciprocation in a cylinder in response to fluid pressure on one side or the other of the piston. Actuation of the piston in a first direction provides paths for component flow through the first and second rotatable valve members and through first and second orifices, respectively, into a mixing chamber. The first and second orifices are disposed to provide impinging streams of the first and second components, the impingement insuring complete and thorough mixing of the components.
