  • Patent number: 9369363
Abstract: One embodiment relates to a method for determining a latency of a network port. Read and write pointers for a FIFO are sampled at the same time. An average difference between a plurality of samples of the read and write pointers is determined. Another embodiment relates to an apparatus for providing timestamps to packets at a network port. Registers sample read and write pointers of a FIFO using a sampling clock. Logic circuitry determines an average difference between the read and write pointers, and timestamping circuitry receives the average difference and inserts timestamps into packets. Other embodiments and features are also disclosed.

Abstract: A hand held dispenser for dispensing sheet material from a roll. The dispenser includes a handle assembly, an elongated blade, and a support assembly. The handle assembly includes a hub rotatably mounted to a frame. The blade extends from the frame. The support assembly includes a bracket, a brace and a support hub. The bracket is attached to the blade apart from the frame and includes a guide track. The guide track provides first and second segments that combine to define a guide axis. A leading side of the brace is slidably mounted to the guide track along the guide axis. The support hub is rotatably mounted to a trailing side of the brace. In a locked state, the leading side is slidably disposed over the track first segment and cannot rotate. In an unlocked state, the leading side is over the track second segment and is allowed to rotate.

  • Publication number: 20160158886
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of laser induced modification and processing of materials. Modification is achieved by confining laser-material interaction within an array of narrow zones characterizing an optical interference profile. Disclosed is a method of laser induced modification of a material comprising applying at least one laser pulse to the material, the at least one laser pulse being incident on the first interface of the material, wherein the material is selected on the basis that it can support an optical interference pattern such that a thin volume at a site of at least one intensity maxima of the optical interference pattern is characterized by a laser intensity above a threshold value to responsively produce the laser induced modification of the material at a location relative to the first interface.

  • Patent number: 9362039
Abstract: A buffer material protects a microelectronic device in space constrained environments, for improved efficiency with respect to magnetostrictive materials therein, and includes a gas filled polymer shell microsphere carried in an elastomeric polymer binder. Expanded Expancel microspheres being less than 20 microns in diameter form 80% of the composition by volume. The polymer binder is a low viscosity dimethyl silicone with a hardness of less than 25. Coating thicknesses may be based upon the overall expected dimensional changes of the encapsulation material, due to its coefficient of thermal expansion and an expected operating temperature range of the component, plus the expected shrinkage of that encapsulation material during polymerization and the overall mass which shall be exerting a force upon the magnetic core, plus the dimensional changes of the component as a result of the flux density resulting in magnetostriction of the magnetic core.

  • Patent number: 9362913
Abstract: Integrated circuits such as application specific integrated circuits or programmable logic devices may include multiple copies of a same circuit together with a majority vote circuit in a configuration that is sometimes also referred to as multi-mode redundancy. An adder circuit may be coupled to these multiple copies and produce a carry-out signal and a sum signal based on signals received from the multiple copies. The carry-out signal of the adder circuit may provide the result of the majority vote operation. A logic exclusive OR gate may perform a logic exclusive OR operation between the sum signal and the carry-out signal, thereby generating an error signal. The error signal may indicate that one of the multiple copies produces an output that is different than the outputs produced by the other copies.

  • Publication number: 20160157105
Abstract: A mobile backhaul inter-mesh communication point forms an interface between a wireless mesh network on a first level and a wireless mesh network on a second, higher bandwidth, level. The two wireless networks are differentiated, e.g., by causing the mesh networks to be formed using different spectra, protocols or coding, or antennae. The mobile intra-mesh communication point functions as an access point in the lower level mesh network and as a relay point in the upper level mesh network. Utilizing mobile inter-mesh communication points facilitates deployment of wireless network access points while enabling the location of access points to follow the concentration of network users. Mobile inter-mesh communication points may be deployed in personal vehicles such as cars, trucks, and motorcycles, public transportation vehicles such as busses, trains, and aircraft, emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances, and many other types of vehicles.
