  • Patent number: 7913518
Abstract: A process and a device for pushing hollow glass objects off a glass forming machine onto a moving conveyor belt are disclosed. Each hollow glass object is pushed by a push-off unit from a dead plate along a curved path onto the conveyor belt in such a way that the curved path is brought tangentially to a contact point in a movement direction of the conveyor belt. Subsequent to the contact point each hollow glass object is pushed further by the push-off unit by a further linear path portion in the movement direction of the conveyor belt as far as a release point at which the push-off unit is released from the hollow glass object. The push-off unit is then moved back to dead plate.

  • Patent number: 7340923
Abstract: A pressing plunger mechanism for a glassware forming machine has at least one pressing plunger which in normal operation can be moved axially in a reciprocating manner together with a pressing plunger receiver between an inoperative position and a pressing position. A piston rod of a piston is fastened to each pressing plunger receiver, which piston can be displaced in a cylinder of a pressing plunger holder. The pressing plunger holder can be moved axially in a reciprocating manner by a first drive and is connected in a non-rotatable manner to a threaded spindle. A nut which can be rotationally driven by the first drive is engaged with the threaded spindle and is coupled to a driven shaft of an angular gear. An input shaft of the angular gear can be rotationally driven by an electric servo motor of the first drive.

  • Patent number: 7281395
Abstract: The gob distributor for a glass forming machine has at least one scoop channel which can be pivoted in a reciprocating manner about a vertical axis. A lower end of each scoop channel can be successively orientated, by the pivoting motion, so as to be aligned with a channel system leading to the respective section. An annular pinion is disposed coaxially with an upper end of each scoop channel. A drive has an electric servomotor which is connected to the at least one annular pinion via a gear mechanism. The gear mechanism includes a screw which can be rotationally driven in a reciprocating manner by the electric servomotor, a worm wheel engaged with the screw, and a toothed wheel which is non-rotational and coaxial with respect to the worm wheel. The toothed wheel is in a driving connection with the at least one annular pinion by means of intermediate wheels.

  • Patent number: 7278282
Abstract: A device for transferring an object from a dead plate of an Individual Section glass-forming machine to a conveyor belt is disclosed. The device includes a first shaft rotatable about an axis. A housing is attached to the first shaft. A carrying arm is slidably mounted on the housing and has a finger at one end for engaging the object. A guide piece having a groove is attached to the other end of the carrying arm. A crank arm engages the groove. The crank arm is connected to a second shaft coaxial with the first shaft. The shafts rotate independently of one another. Each shaft has its own drive unit. Rotation of the first shaft rotates the carrying arm about the first axis and rotation of the second shaft causes sliding motion of the carrying arm along its longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 7047766
Abstract: An invert mechanism for moving parisons between a pre-forming station and a finishing forming station of a glass forming machine is disclosed. The mechanism is disposed above a cover plate of a frame of the glass forming machine. An electric motor is disposed with its horizontal longitudinal axis above the cover plate. A driven shaft of the electric motor is connected to a horizontal invert shaft by means of a transmission. Between the driven shaft of the electric motor and the transmission a planetary gear is connected.

  • Patent number: 7017374
Abstract: Each mold half is held by means of a mold half holding mechanism which can be driven so as to pivot in a reciprocating manner about a common vertical hinge column by means of a vertical shaft (6; 7), which is mounted in a rotatable manner in a frame (2) of the glass forming machine (1), and by means of first intermediate members. Each shaft (6; 7) is connected via a lever mechanism (8; 9) to a common drive shaft which can be pivoted in a reciprocating manner by means of a drive element (19), which can be moved linearly in a reciprocating manner, of a drive (20) and by means of second intermediate members (18). The drive element (19) can be mounted on a nut (26) and secured against rotating about a longitudinal axis (39) of the drive element (19) by means of a guide device (32). The nut (26) is in engagement with a spindle (33). The spindle (33) is mounted in an axially fixed, rotatable manner and can be driven rotationally in a reciprocating manner by means of the drive (20).

  • Patent number: 6684665
Abstract: Device for driving two mold half holders of a glass molding machine On a glass molding machine (5) holders (2; 3) are pivotally mounted about an axis (4). Each holder (2; 3) has mold tool halves (6; 7). A first joint bar (10) is articulated at a first articulation point (9) of each holder (2; 3). A second joint bar (12) is articulated at a second articulation point (11) of the first joint bar (10), which second joint bar is articulated for its part at a third articulation point (13) of the glass molding machine (5). A rod (14) is also articulated at the second articulation point (11) and is articulated with its other end at a crank pin (15) of a crank (16). Each of the two cranks (16) is coaxially connected to a toothed wheel (17; 18). The toothed wheels (17; 18) are in engagement with a worm (21) on diametrically opposite sides, which worm can be rotationally driven in a reciprocating manner by an electric servomotor (29) via a gear mechanism (30).

  • Patent number: 6601410
Abstract: The device (1) comprises a transfer mechanism (7) which is attached to the free ends of two parallel piston rods (13, 14). The associated piston-cylinder units (15, 16) are attached to a support structure (17) and can be pivoted therewith in a reciprocating manner about a vertical axis (18) by an angle of approximately 105° between a dead plate (3) and a conveyor belt (5). Compressed air nozzles (11) for the purpose of producing negative pressure in corners (10) of the transfer mechanism (7) are supplied with compressed air from a first advance chamber (22) by way of a supply duct (12) of the transfer mechanism (7) and one (13) of the piston rods and the associated piston (21). This is performed by way of a first directional control valve (29) from a first compressed air source (31) of relatively low pressure.

  • Patent number: 6503328
Abstract: Glass containers are taken to a high temperature in an annealing furnace and removed from the annealing furnace belt by grips of a gripping device. The gripping device is then moved by a handling device first vertically upwards, then horizontally above a fluidized bed and then downwards into the fluidized bed in order to coat the glass containers with a powder, it is then taken upwards out of the fluidized bed and finally moved horizontally over a conveyor belt. There, the glass containers are released from the gripping device and set down on the conveyor belt which takes the powder-coated glass containers through a second curing region in which the powder coating is cured to form a substantially duroplastic layer.
