Abstract: A method and device for the production of packages for use in the production of cigarette packs (10) of the hinge-lid-box type, in which, usually in a final production step, folding flaps, namely side flaps for forming side walls of the pack, are provided with glue and then outer side flaps are folded. The gluing is done using cold glue, on the one hand, and hot glue, on the other hand. During certain operating phases, only one of the types of glue is transferred, and therefore, with different curing times of the types of glue, it is ensured that the pack is shaped precisely before the glue bonds are solid. It is also ensured that the residence time in a drying turret is sufficient in order to allow at least one of a number of types of glue to set.

Abstract: For the heat treatment of cigarette packs (10) having an outer wrapper made of shrink film, the packs (10) can be conveyed in pairs, one above the other, through a shrink-fitting subassembly (20). During a standstill phase, heating plates (22, 23, 24) butt against upwardly and downwardly oriented pack surfaces in order to transmit heat. The heating plates (22, 24) can be moved upward and downward in order that the pack (10) is free of loading during the conveying cycle.

The collar (13) is connected to a connecting web (15) via an edge-side collar folding line, and the connecting webs (15, 16) are connected to the main blank (14) via transversely oriented web folding lines (41, 42), with the result that the collar (13) can be moved into the position with two folding steps which follow one another.

Abstract: For the production of cigarette groups (11) having a formation comprising a plurality of vertical rows of cigarettes (10) arranged one beside the other, after pushing a corresponding number of cigarettes (10) out of shafts (13) of a cigarette magazine (12), a transverse displacement of the cigarettes (10) is required in order to arrange same in a tightly packed or saddle configuration. At least marginal push rods (18) for pushing the cigarettes (10) out of the shafts (13) of the cigarette magazine (12) can be displaced transversely together with the cigarettes.

Abstract: In order to produce (cigarette) packs with an (inner) wrapper made of heat-sealable sheet material and with folding tabs which are connected to one another by sealing, first of all a cigarette group (11) is enclosed by a wrapper blank and. following completion of the necessary folding operations, is fed to a sealing turret (48). In the region of the latter, folding tabs on sideways directed side walls and on radially outwardly directed end walls of the folded wrapper are sealed.

Abstract: During the production of cigarette packs having an inner wrapper of thin packaging material, the blank (10) of the inner wrapper is provided with impressed lines, namely transverse impressed lines (19, 20) which delimit a base wall (11) which is first contacted by a cigarette group (23) when the latter is wrapped in a U-shaped manner. By virtue of the impressed lines (19, 20), the mechanical load forces exerted on the cigarette group during the U-shaped folding process is reduced. Furthermore, a cigarette conveyor (25) for transferring the cigarette groups (23) is driven in a non-uniform manner, i.e. at reduced speed, when receiving a blank (10), and at a correspondingly greater speed during other conveying operations.

For this purpose, glue nozzles (41, 42) are arranged in the region of a pack conveyor path (30) and have the side tabs (19) and lid side tabs (25) butting against them temporarily for the transfer of strip-like applications of glue.
