  • Patent number: 4717860
Abstract: An x-ray image intensifier having a tube bulb and an output window being mounted in a metal frame. The frame is inserted into the tube bulb and attached to the tube bulb in a region of the output window characterized by the output window being a glass window having a luminophor layer applied thereto, the output window being connected to the frame by only a single metal solder connection of soft solder so that the pane having the luminophor layer can be soldered to the frame without damaging the luminophor layer. Preferably, a peripheral edge of the window pane is free of the luminophor layer, and this peripheral edge has at least one adhesive layer deposited at the location for the solder connection.

  • Patent number: 4371806
Abstract: In the exemplary embodiments, the luminescent layer is applied to a carrier exhibiting a grid which is applied in the manner known per se in applying photo grids. Thereby, however, it is disadvantageous that the grid interstices exhibit only a small depth, so that the grid structure disappears as the luminescent layer is applied with increasing thickness. In order to avoid this disadvantage, the disclosure provides that the carrier also be etched after application of the grid, so that the grid interstices receive the shape of enlarged recesses of greater depth. The luminescent layer applied to this grid then retains the grid-like interruptions even given a greater thickness. An inventive luminescent screen receives improved image transmission properties and is particularly suited for employment as an X-ray (image intensifier) luminescent screen in medical X-ray diagnostics.

  • Patent number: 4153854
Abstract: A radioluscent window structure comprised of an aluminum pane gas-impermeably sealed to a metal frame, as on a vacuum tube, is produced by applying a silver layer on the outer frame edges and on the outer pane edges, positioning the resultant metal frame and pane so that the silver layers thereof are in contact with one another and subjecting the resulting structure to diffusion welding conditions sufficient to achieve a gas-impermeable seal between the frame and the pane.
