  • Publication number: 20100320693
Abstract: A projectile trap composition comprising 10% to 100% by weight of metallocene polyolefin wax and/or its derivatives. The projectile trap composition of the present invention has high permeability for projectiles with self-healing behavior and it effects the complete deceleration of impacting projectiles in a system of different plates and in some instances additionally a section of projectile trap composition granules.

  • Publication number: 20090126603
Abstract: Metallocene-catalyzed polyolefins comprising wax and polymer formulations with and without filler are particularly suitable for use in precision casting processes and hollow core production. The invention relates to wax formulations comprising: a) metallocene-catalyzed polyolefins having a melting point of from 80° C. to 150° C., a viscosity of from 60 to 20 000 mpa·s at 140° C. and a melt flow index (MFI) of from 30 to 3 000 g/10 min under a load of 2.16 kg and at a test temperature of 230° C., b) waxes and wax derivatives having a melting point of from 80° C. to 165° C. and a viscosity of from 50 to 30 000 mPa·s at 140° C., c) low density polyolefins (LDPE) having a melting point of from 80° C. to 150° C. and a melt flow index (MFI) of from 30 g/10 min to 3 000 g/10 min measured under a load of 2.16 kg and at a temperature of 230° C. The wax formulations are used, in particular, for cutting model production processes and hollow core production in the dental, jewelry and precision engineering sectors.

  • Publication number: 20090118409
Abstract: Embedding composition comprising a) one or more waxes based on metallocene-catalyzed polyolefins which have a ring/ball softening point in the range from 50 to 165° C., a melt viscosity, measured at a temperature of 170° C., in the range from 20 to 40 000 mPa·s and a glass transition temperature Tg of not more than ?10° C. and b) one or more inorganic filler(s). The embedding compositions are suitable for producing construction materials, in particular for the production of connecting elements for the encapsulation of electronic circuits, electric appliances, motors, pumps, e.g. fixing the stator of immersion pump assemblies, in particular as embedding composition for the stator of an electric motor.

  • Publication number: 20080319126
Abstract: Latent heat store based on an organic material which melts at a temperature in the range from 80 to 160° C. and comprises one or more polyolefin waxes which have been prepared via a metallocene-catalyzed reaction. The polyolefin waxes are preferably present as powder, granules or block in the material and are homopolymers of ethylene or of propylene or copolymers of propylene with ethylene or copolymers of ethylene with propylene or with one or more 1-olefins. The material has an enthalpy of fusion in the range from 70 to 280 J/g.
