  • Patent number: 11726503
Abstract: An implementation is for a two-phase shutoff of a device having a sensor coupled to an integral shutoff system. One example includes a metering system with a sensor coupled to an integral shutoff system, wherein the sensor is used to perform a measurement which indicates that a first threshold has been met, a first response system configured to perform at least one action with respect to receiving the indication that the first threshold was met, the at least one action occurring while the integral shutoff system remains inactivated, a second response system configured to receive an indication from the metering system, wherein the sensor is used to perform a second measurement which indicates that a second threshold has been met, and a second response system configured to perform at least one additional action.

  • Patent number: 11726073
Abstract: A method includes attaching a gas capture device to a bypass system adjacent to a gas meter. The method also includes rotating an internal cartridge near the gas meter to a bypass mode. The rotation of the internal cartridge enables gas to be diverted through a bypass system and away from the gas meter into an outlet. Remaining gas is captured from the gas meter to prevent the gas from releasing externally. The gas meter is removed from its original position. The internal cartridge is rotated from the bypass mode to a purge mode.

  • Publication number: 20220325812
Abstract: One embodiment is a device comprising a first and second section of a housing connected by a connection region that uses a plurality of connection elements, an inlet connected to the first or the second section, an outlet connected to the first or the second section where a gas can exit the housing, and a valve connected to the outlet, the valve capable of withstanding a first pressure in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20130045542
Abstract: A method of using at least one quantitative ratio of two different amyloid beta-peptides in a sample of a body fluid from a patient for determining the patient's probability of contracting Alzheimer's disease (AD) or for determining the patient's suffering from a precursor of Alzheimer's disease includes obtaining the sample of the body fluid from the patient. The at least one quantitative ratio is calculated from the two different amyloid beta-peptides from the sample. The patient's probability of contracting Alzheimer's disease (AD) or the patient's suffering from a precursor of Alzheimer's disease is calculated using the at least one quantitative ratio. The two different amyloid beta-peptides are selected from (a) A?(1-42), (b) A?(2-40) and (c) A?(2-42). The at least one quantitative ratio is selected from (a) A?(1-42)/(b) A?(2-40), (a) A?(1-42)/(c) A?(2-42), (b) A?(2-40)/(a) A?(1-42) and (c) A?(2-42)/(a) A?(1-42).

  • Publication number: 20090239311
Abstract: In an ex vivo method of differentially diagnosing dementias selected from a group of demetias, which includes vascular dementias and frontotemporal lobe degenerations, a concentration of at least one carboxy-terminally truncated amyloid ? peptide species as a biomarker is determined in a body fluid obtained from a patient, the at least one carboxy-terminally truncated amyloid ? peptide species being selected from the group of species consisting of A?1-38, A?1-37 and A?1-39; and the concentration of the at least one carboxy-terminally truncated amyloid ? peptide species is compared to a threshold concentration value for the respective one carboxy-terminally truncated amyloid ? peptide species.
