Patent number: 11226605Abstract: A control layer automation device comprises a processor, one or more control layer applications, a database, a wireless interface, a device memory. Each control layer application is configured to perform a discrete set of automation functions. The database comprises a plurality of operator device identifiers and the wireless interface allows the one or more control layer applications to communicate with a plurality of operator devices via the plurality of operator device identifiers. The device memory comprises the one or more control layer applications. The control layer application manager is configured to manage execution of the one or more control layer applications on the processor.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2015Date of Patent: January 18, 2022Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: George Lo, Livio Dalloro, Thomas Gruenewald, Christian Winkler, Peter Kob, Andreas Scholz, Mina Azib, Hermann Friedrich, Ren-Yi Lo

Patent number: 10705511Abstract: A system for implementing automation functions through abstraction layers includes a control application and an automation equipment abstraction framework executable in a runtime environment. The control application is designed to communicate with automation equipment using one or more automation functions. Each automation function comprises one or more equipment-agnostic instructions. During execution of the control application, the automation equipment abstraction framework receives an equipment-agnostic instructions and an indication of a particular unit of automation equipment. The automation equipment abstraction framework translates the equipment-agnostic instructions into equipment-specific automation instructions executable on the particular unit of automation equipment. These equipment-specific automation instructions may then be sent to the particular unit of automation equipment.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2018Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hartmut Ludwig, Kurt Dirk Bettenhausen, Hermann Friedrich, Lingyun Wang

Patent number: 5757672Abstract: The operability of a plurality of sensors is monitored by periodically interrogating the sensors individually and evaluating the responses to the interrogation. The sensors are each connected to a two-conductor power supply bus via a signal processor and an interface. The information exchanged via the bus is in the form of binary coded signals generated by clocking the bus voltage.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1995Date of Patent: May 26, 1998Assignee: K.A. Patent number: 4448208Abstract: A tobacco extractor (10) for extracting liquid and soluble constituents from cut, small plants or tobacco is disclosed. The extractor (10) consists of a worm conveyor (16) for conveying the tobacco through a V-shaped conduit (11, 12) while the wash liquid passes through the conduit in an opposite direction.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1982Date of Patent: May 15, 1984Assignee: Philip Morris IncorporatedInventors: Hermann Friedrich, Claude Ruf, Jacques Brosy

Patent number: 4087167Abstract: A dual or twin projector arranged to take picture slides from a single magazine located between the two projectors, and to return the slides to the same magazine after projection, in proper order ready for another projection operation. The planes of the picture gates of the two projectors are slightly staggered or offset from each other in the direction of the optical axis, preferably by a distance equal to the spacing of the slides in the magazine, so that, for certain types of operation, one slide may be fed from the magazine to one projector simultaneously with the feeding of the next slide from the magazine to the other projector.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1976Date of Patent: May 2, 1978Assignee: Rollei-Werke Franke & HeideckeInventor: Hermann Friedrich Albrecht

Patent number: 4029407Abstract: A picture slide projector having provision for automatic focusing (i.e., provision for automatically keeping the projection lens and the picture slide at a constant distance from each other notwithstanding a buckling displacement of the slide under the influence of heat) is provided with means for moving the projection lens axially relative to the picture slide, to an out-of-focus position to produce a fading or dissolving effect on the viewing screen, while the slide is being withdrawn from the slide holder or gate and replaced by another slide. At the same time, the automatic focusing mechanism is rendered inoperative. Preferably also at the same time, the projection lamp is dimmed. When the slide changing operation is completed, the automatic focusing mechanism is rendered operative, and it serves to bring the projection lens back axially to the sharp focus position, the projection lamp being simultaneously brightened.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1976Date of Patent: June 14, 1977Assignee: Rollei-Werke Franke & HeideckeInventor: Hermann Friedrich Albrecht

Patent number: 4006513Abstract: A runner wheel support for sliding doors, windows and the like consists of a support body which is a press fit in the respective frame, and which carries the support wheel or roller on an arm carried by a disengageable pivot. The wheel support arm has a cam member cooperating with a height adjustment screw and spring fingers on the support body to hold the wheel support in a stored position while the support body is fitted into a frame member, and thereafter to free the wheel support from this stored position and to hold it in an operative position. Preferably the support body is of L-shape and acts as a connector to join together mitre-cornered pieces of frame. Movement of the wheel support arm to a removal position disengages the cam member from the spring fingers, so that the arm can be disengaged from the pivot and removed.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1975Date of Patent: February 8, 1977Inventor: Hermann Friedrich Offterdinger
