  • Patent number: 4289228
Abstract: A device for the intermittent conveyance of receptacles for receiving packing or filling material in an intermittently operating machine, particularly a tube filling and closing machine, comprising, first and second parallel spaced apart linear guideways facing at angles to each other and a plurality of sets, each adapted for receiving one of the receptacles, slidably mounted on the first and second guideways. A driving unit is provided for moving the cassettes linearly along the guideways and for tilting and displacing the cassettes from one guideway to the other when each cassette reaches the end of the one guideway. The cassettes thus execute a cyclic movement along the first and second guideways.

  • Patent number: 4234107
Abstract: A tube filling and closing machine includes a material feeding device which comprises a container for the material to be packaged which opens into a cylinder in which a piston is movable backwardly and forwardly for taking in the material from the container and dicharging it out through a nozzle discharge into a package to be filled. The piston is moved by a connection to a piston rod which is connected to the piston and a valve is disposed between the filling line to the storage container for the material and a discharge line to a nozzle for filling the package. A mechanism is connected to the piston to change the stroke thereof for varying the quantity of material which is filled and this includes a lever arm which is connected to a fixed pivot at one end and its opposite end provides a journal for a rotatable shaft which carries a cam plate which is in engagement with a cam roller located at a fixed location.

  • Patent number: 3997081
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the operation of a package filling device, comprises a cylinder which has inlet and outlet means for the intake and discharge of a filling material into a package to be filled. A clamp piece is secured to a piston rod which is connected to the piston and a slider is movable along said piston rod below the clamp piece. A drive mechanism connected to the slider moves it upwardly and downwardly along said piston rod through a path to cause the slider to contact the clamp piece and to raise it along with the piston rod and the piston to deliver material from the cylinder. The rod is movable downwardly when the slide is caused to move downwardly by the drive mechanism and this causes the piston to draw in an additional charge of filling material.

  • Patent number: 3964238
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a tank, having a perforated wall disposed above its bottom, arranged to be flooded with a disinfectant and to have the disinfectant drained therefrom, and arranged to have a laminar flow of germ-free air under pressure directed against the surface of the liquid during draining thereof. A pair of laterally spaced guide rails extend longitudinally through the tank in parallel relation with each other. A plurality of container-working stations and a container-filling station are arranged linearly along the guide rails, each container-working station comprising a pair of mutually displaceable, mirror-reversed mating tool parts, each mounted on a respective guide rail. A pair of webs of thermoplastic material or metal foil, which have already been subjected to a preliminary aseptic treatment, are constantly supplied into the tank for step-by-step displacement along the several container-working stations and the container-filling station.
