  • Publication number: 20110062157
Abstract: The invention is a safety device, and a container utilizing such a device, for release of pressure from a closed container, when the container is heated. The container has a ventilation opening, sealed by a disk which is made to melt at a critical temperature. The disk is manufactured from a plastic and has at least one recess in the area of the ventilation opening. The ventilation opening is situated at one end of a ventilation pipe, wherein the pipe is at least partially overlapped by the affixing device and detachably connected to it. The ventilation pipe has an exterior threading located at the end of the pipe overlapped by the affixing device. The detachable connection can be made by screwing the sleeve nut onto the exterior threading. The disk has a design of varied geometry embedded therein; the design creating varying surface thicknesses for the disk, which allow the disk to melt at varying rates depending upon the temperature of the interior of the container.

  • Patent number: 4795090
Abstract: In an air-conditioning installation for vehicles with a blower for supplying fresh air to a vehicle interior space, with a temperature sensor for detecting the interior space temperature and with an air jet pump, consisting of a venturi pipe and of an air suction connection for producing an air flow over the temperature sensor, the air jet pump is arranged integrated in the blower for reducing the individual components for the temperature detection and for reducing the requisite installation space in the vehicle in such a manner that its air outlet opening lies within the blower stream. The temperature sensor is thereby so arranged that it is acted upon by the interior space air sucked-in by way of the air suction connection.

  • Patent number: 4724898
Abstract: A system for the air-conditioning of the interior of a motor vehicle having an engine cooling circuit is provided which has a water/air heat exchanger and a water/water heat exchanger connected in series in the engine cooling circuit. The water/air heat exchanger is arranged upstream of the water/water heat exchanger. The water/water heat exchanger is between the water/air heat exchanger and panel heat exchangers which are located in the interior of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4712608
Abstract: A heat exchanger for the independent heating of the driver and front-seat passenger side of a passenger space, having flow pipes located at the ends of the heat exchanger at the transition between the upper and lower water compartment. These flow pipes are connected to the central flow connection via a flow channel transverse to the central flow connection and corresponding juncture channel. The transverse channel is located above a collecting chamber which is located at the lower side of the upper water compartment. The flow pipes guide the flow from the upper water compartment to the lower water compartment. Return pipes are positioned to guide the flow from the lower water compartment into the collecting chamber in the upper water compartment. From the collecting chamber the flow travels out of the upper water compartment through return connections.

  • Patent number: 4693417
Abstract: A heating or air-conditioning system for passenger cars is described that is equipped with a main heat exchanger comprising a ribbed-tube block against which the air flows that is guided into the passenger space and of a forward-flow radiator tank through which water flows and a return-flow radiator tank. The heating or air-conditioning system is also equipped with one or several additional panel radiators that are connected to an additional circulating system and are arranged so that they are distributed at or in the interior of the vehicle. This additional circulating system has a forward-flow chamber that is assigned to the return-flow radiator tank of the main heat exchanger. As a result, the advantage is achieved that the panel radiators, during the heating operation, can be acted upon directly from the main heat exchanger by a lower temperature. Also, the advantage is achieved that the panel heat exchangers in the cooling operation of the air-conditioning system, may also be used for cooling.

  • Patent number: 4630327
Abstract: A windshield wiper having at least a single telescope arm, variable in its effective length during the wiper movement. A drive arrangement completely relieves a guide of an extendable part of the wiper arm of laterally directed forces, so that a simple and light embodiment of the drive arrangement and wiper arm is made possible.

  • Patent number: 4563942
Abstract: A casing for an equipment part, both casing and part being accommodated in a space located between the engine compartment or boot and the splash wall of a motor vehicle, the portion of the casing surrounding the equipment part from below, or its connection to the remaining casing being designed to be movable, in such a way that, when the casing is installed or removed for maintenance, for example, the lower portion yields temporarily changing its shape and then assumes its initial shape again.

  • Patent number: 4560973
Abstract: A thermometer is provided which is insertable between two lamella of a heat exchanger. The thermometer exhibits a double channeled insulated pipe or tube for receiving the uninsulated leads which are connected to a temperature sensitive resistance at a supporting connection with a cap surrounding a heat conducting mass. The other end of the double channeled tube is inserted into a connector device which in turn leads to a relieved connecting cable.

  • Patent number: 4407167
Abstract: A sliding guide member which includes a sliding member accommodating one end of flexible cable assembly which is adapted to transmit tensile and compressive forces. The end zone of the sliding member in proximity of the cable assembly, which zone is slidingly movably guided within a fixed guide sleeve, is constructed to be offset with respect to the remaining zone in which is accommodated an adjusting element for the sliding guide mechanism. The guided end zone of the sliding member has an approximately spherical shape and includes a bore for a suspension mounting of an end of the flexible cable assembly, which end is provided with a ball element. The sliding member is provided with a threaded bore extending in the axial direction for accommodating the adjusting element, which is equipped with an external thread so as to enable a coupling of the adjusting element to the sliding member.
