  • Patent number: 6601682
Abstract: A power train between the output shaft of the engine and the input shaft of the transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle has a composite flywheel receiving torque from the output shaft and transmits torque to the input shaft by way of a clutch disc in response to engagement of a friction clutch which is arranged to transmit torque between the clutch disc and the flywheel. The clutch disc has an input section adapted to receive torque from the flywheel and an output section adjacent the mass of a dynamic damper. Transmission of torque between the mass and the clutch disc takes place by way of the coil springs of an oscillation damper and a slip clutch in series with the oscillation damper.

  • Patent number: 4961487
Abstract: Vibration damping apparatus for use in the power train between the engine and the variable-speed transmission of a motor vehicle has a first flywheel connectable to the engine, a second flywheel connectable to the input shaft of the transmission by a friction clutch, one or more dampers between the flywheels, and an axial plug-in coupling between the parts which are carried by the first flywheel and the parts which are carried by the second flywheel. The coupling has radially extending first profiles which are carried by the first flywheel and radially extending second profiles which are carried by the second flywheel and mate with the first profiles to transmit torque when the engine is running.

  • Patent number: 4792030
Abstract: One or both end faces of the flange of the hub in a clutch disc have radially or nearly radially extending teeth which are caused to penetrate into adjacent shoulders of the sleeve-like other component of the hub so that the flange and the sleeve-like component are compelled to rotate as a unit. At least one of the shoulders is formed by upsetting the corresponding portion of the sleeve-like component.
