  • Patent number: 5469949
Abstract: The free-wheel has an inner ring (30,138) and an outer ring (32,140). Generally bone-shaped clamping elements (18,116) are located between the rings (30,32; 138,140) which are provided with an outer radial thickening (24), a central waist (22,152) and an inner radial thickening (20,150). A cage ring (10, 142) that guides the clamping elements (18,116) in a synchronous manner is arranged at the height at the inner radial thickening (20,150). The cage ring (10,142) consists of two cage ring segments (34,144) that have an axial distance to each other and axial webs (38,146) that connect the same and between which pockets (14,148) for the clamping elements (18,116) are formed. The cage ring (10,142) consists of a viscoelastic plastic material, in particular an elastomer.

  • Patent number: 5016741
Abstract: A freewheel assembly is disclosed. The freewheel includes an internal cage ring made of a rigid material such as a metal. An external cage ring which is made of a flexible material such as a plastic surrounds the internal cage ring. Projections extend from the frontal surfaces of the external cage ring. The projections define cams for engaging a surrounding member.

  • Patent number: 4875564
Abstract: A double cage structure for a freewheel sprag clutch in which the inner cage ring is formed of metal and the outer cage ring is formed of a plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4819776
Abstract: A cage for a clutch roller in an overrunning clutch having a side plate and crossbars extending therefrom parallel to the axis of the cage, complemented by a side ring spaced from the side plate which is bonded integrally to the ends of the crossbars. As a result of this, one obtains a cage with high stability that can be simply produced.
