    Abstract: A method for determining an operating temperature of a battery cell in which (i) a value of a measure variable for determining an external temperature of the battery cell is detected, (ii) an internal temperature of the battery cell is determined by detecting an electrical impedance of the battery cell, and (iii) a value of the operating temperature of the battery cell is determined from the external and/or the internal temperature. Further, the apparatus may select a size of each of the plurality of meshlets in the at least one scene based on the pair of the texture coordinates and based on a perspective projection of each of the plurality of meshlets. The apparatus may also calculate layout information in a meshlet atlas for each of the meshlets in the at least one scene. Moreover, the apparatus may shade each of a plurality of pixels in the meshlet atlas based on the calculated layout information.

The device can determine a first shading value for each primitive in a first set of primitives associated with objects in a first frame. The device can also determine a second shading value for each primitive in a second set of primitives associated with objects in a second frame. Additionally, the device can calculate a shading difference for each primitive in both the first set of primitives and the second set of primitives. In some aspects, the shading difference is the difference between the first shading value and the second shading value for the primitive. Moreover, the device can shade each primitive in response to determining the shading difference is greater than a threshold, where each shaded primitive is in a third set of primitives.

    Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a process and a plant for the production of sulphuric acid wherein a sulphur dioxide-containing feed gas is converted, at least in part, with oxygen in at least two contact stages of main contacts arranged in series, to generate sulphur trioxide, and wherein generated sulphur trioxide-containing gas is conducted to an absorber and converted therein to sulphuric acid. In order to be able to economically process feed gases of a sulphur dioxide content of between 13 and 66% by volume to sulphuric acid, using conventional catalysts, it is suggested to withdraw from a contact stage connected upstream of the last main contact stage, a partial stream of the sulphur dioxide- and sulphur trioxide-containing gas, to mix the said partial stream with the feed gas to generate a contact gas of a sulphur dioxide content of more than 13% by volume, and to return the same to the first contact stage.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for varying valve lift in an internal combustion engine are disclosed. The apparatus include a rocker arm having an elongate aperture and a shaft configured to pass through the aperture. The height of the shaft with respect to the aperture is variable to effect different rocker arm ratios when in combination with a fixed fulcrum point. When the shaft is located in a lower position with respect to the aperture in the rocker arm, the rocker arm pivots around the rocker arm shaft producing full valve lift. Alternatively, when the rocker arm shaft is positioned at a height above the lower position, an upper surface of the rocker arm becomes engageable to varying degrees with the fixed fulcrum point, allowing the rocker arm to pivot around the fixed fulcrum point, thereby reducing the rocker arm ratio, and corresponding valve lift dependent on the rocker arm shaft position. Corresponding methods are also disclosed.
