Abstract: Compounds of formula I,R--S--CH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 --S--R.sup.4 (I),where R is tert-alkyl of 4 to 20 carbon atoms and 4 is benzothiazolyl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --S--CH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 --S--(C.sub.1 -C.sub.16 alkyl), m is 0, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.s --R.sup.7 where s is 1 to 4 and R.sup.7 is benzothiazolyl are effective additives for lubricants, hydraulic fluids or other lubricant systems. Some novel compounds of formula I are claimed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition containing a lubricant or hydraulic fluid and in an effective amount to improve extreme pressure and anti-wear properties of said lubricant or hydraulic fluid of at least one compound of the formula II ##STR1## R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 together with the C atom to which they are bound are tert-C.sub.4 -C.sub.14 -alkyl. Abstract: Stabilized chlorine-containing polymer compositions comprising a chlorine-containing polymer and a stabilizer mixture comprising:a) at least one cyclic or non-cyclic, sterically hindered amine,b) at least one organic zinc compound and/or inorganic zinc compound from the series consisting of carbonates, chlorides, sulfates, oxides, hydroxides, basic oxides and mixed oxides, andc) at least one compound from the series consisting of the crystalline alkali metal/alkaline earth metal aluminosilicates, and, if desired,d) at least one 1,3-diketone and/ore) at least one organic or inorganic calcium compound.Polymer compositions of this type are preferably employed for slush mould and crash pad applications.

Abstract: Chlorine-containing polymers can be stabilized against thermal and actinic degradation by addition of a) a sterically hindered amine, b) a zinc compound, c) a calcium, magnesium and/or barium compound, and d) a 1,3-dicarbonyl compound. Other additives such as phosphites or epoxides can further improve the stabilization.

Abstract: Chlorine-containing polymers can be stabilised against thermal and actinic degradation by addition of a sterically hindered amine and a zinc compound in the absence of other organometallic compounds. It is preferred additionally to add a 1,3-dicarbonyl compound.

Abstract: The compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein n is 1 or 2, R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are, for example, alkanoyl or alkanoyloxy or R.sub.3 may also be, for example, alkanedioyl, are suitable for stabilizing chlorine-containing polymers against thermal and light-induced degradation.Some of the compounds of formula I are novel.

Abstract: Moulding compositions comprising(a) a melamine/formaldehyde resin, a melamine/phenol/formaldehyde resin or a mixture of said resins,(b) organic and/or inorganic fillers,(c) a lubricant, and(d) 0.1 to 2% by weight, based on the total composition, of 3-chloro-1,2-propanediol as latent hardener,are suitable for the production of mouldings by injection moulding. The latent hardener employed permits extremely short cycle times coupled with long residence times at the cylinder temperature of the injection moulding machine. The moulding compositions are distinguished at the same time by very good flow properties.

Abstract: Compositions containing a lubricant, a hydraulic fluid or a metal-working fluid and at least one compound of the formula I ##STR1## in which R, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and n are as defined in claim 1, are described. The compounds of the formula I are suitable for use as anti-wear agents and as extreme-pressure additives for lubricants, hydraulic fluids and metal-working fluids. Novel compounds of the formula I are also described.
