    Abstract: A method for disposing of a radioactively contaminated steam generator with a multiplicity of U-shaped heating tubes fixed in a tube plate, includes cutting off the heating tubes above the tube plate, cutting open the dome of the steam generator and gripping the heating tubes one after the other at the U-bend with force-locking measures. Once gripped, each heating tube is drawn through crushing rollers to achieve an initial reduction in size and to reduce a bend radius of the tube and is then passed into a press where it is pressed flat.

    Abstract: An installation for decontaminating a radioactively contaminated surface with a dry mechanical abrasive includes an extractor for suction extraction of an extraction gas together with an abrasive/dust mixture produced during blasting. A separator separates the abrasive/dust mixture aspirated by the extractor into a dust fraction and a re-usable abrasive fraction. A storage bin is connected between the extractor and the separator. The storage bin includes a filter device having a filter for filtering the extraction gas flowing through the storage bin to the extractor, and a blowoff line to be connected to the filter device for blowing off the filter.

A retaining device protrudes into the duct and is movable from outside in the interior of the pipe, connector or vessel. A blasting head is disposed on the retaining device. A blasting system is connected to the blasting head and has a continuous circulation of the blasting medium.

    Abstract: An assembly includes a structure. A shielding apparatus is disposed inside the structure and radioactive plant components having sides and a bottom are surrounded by the shielding apparatus. The radioactive plant components include relatively highly radioactive components and relatively weakly radioactive or non-radioactive components. A water-tight vessel embedded in the structure has an interior and an outside and exclusively surrounds the radioactive plant components at the sides and at the bottom with the relatively highly radioactive components disposed in the interior and the relatively weakly radioactive or non-radioactive components disposed at the outside. The water-tight vessel is sufficiently large to hold water serving as a shielding device and to hold crushed contaminate pieces of the radioactive plant components during subsequent dismantling of the plant components.
