  • Patent number: 5359288
Abstract: A magnetic position sensor system including a magnetic medium divided into a plurality of areas of magnetization for producing a magnetic field with a variable intensity. The magnetic medium includes a first side, a second side and a longitudinal axis. A Hall cell is used for detecting the intensity of the magnetic field produced by the magnetic medium and for producing an electric signal which corresponds to the intensity detected. The magnetic medium is movable with respect to the Hall cell so that the Hall cell scans along the first side of the medium along the longitudinal axis and detects the intensity of the magnetic field at any given point along the longitudinal axis of the medium.

  • Patent number: 4841243
Abstract: An elongated generally cylindrical speed sensing device for sensing the speed of a toothed wheel to one side of the device, the device axis being transverse to the wheel axis and the device being generally tangential to the wheel. An elongated soft magnetic pole piece is surrounded by a coil coaxial with the pole piece, and a laterally extending circular symmetrical pole piece projection extends past an end of the coil to a diameter at least equal to the outside diameter of the coil. An axially magnetized permanent magnet abuts one end of the elongated pole piece. The device housing has rotationally symmetrical mounting surfaces coaxial with the magnetic axis so that angular alignment in installation is not required.

  • Patent number: 4746849
Abstract: A two wire control circuit for a bidirection variable speed stepping motor having motor drive logic adjacent to the motor. The control signals are momentary pulses which are superimposed on the supply line. The very short duration pulses are not recognized by the motor, but are used to trigger the sequence of the motor drive logic and through a low pass filter, the same modulated power supply line can power the drive logic.

  • Patent number: 4070608
Abstract: Tool offset compensation for a commanded path for a two axes NC system that produces movement by axis determination of sequential steps, is provided by having the tool offset the desired value, placing the tool center in the same quadrant as the direction of the commanded path and then making the tool center normal to the beginning of the commanded path. For a linear commanded path, the NC system then produces the commanded path while for an arcuate commanded path, the radius of the movement path produced is made to be the algebraic sum of the commanded path and tool center radii with additional incremental alterations without a corresponding movement being made in the numerical extent of the commanded path to utilize the same numerical extent for controlling the extent of the movement path.

  • Patent number: 3949285
Abstract: A lathe numerical control system for cutting a tapered thread by a cutting tool that is moved along a rotating workpiece in steps on both a lead axis and a radius axis. Synchronism of movement along both axes with the workpiece rotation is achieved by an encoder producing a set number of pulses per revolution of the workpiece and these pulses are directed simultaneously to a lead axis path and a radius axis path with each path effectively dividing its encoder pulses to produce the steps needed for the tool movement to produce a thread for each revolution.
